This 1996 Simon Duplex equipped with a 102' LTI ladder served as Jakeland Truck 4 from 1996 - 2007. During it's service it was the busiest ladder in the City of Jakeland in 1996. After being replaced in 2007, it was sold to another fire department in NJ. That fire department used the 1996 Simon Duplex until 2013. The Ex Chiefs of the J.L.F.D. Association then purchased the ladder so it could return to Jakeland. The ladder was then refurbished and repainted to the original condition when it was delivered in 1996. It now serves as the Jakeland Fire Dept. reserve ladder.
This ladder was inspired by the 1996 Simon Duplex/LTI towers used by the Indianapolis Fire Dept. and the 1994 Simon Duplex/LTI that the Maywood, NJ Fire Dept. currently uses.
Simon Duplex! Wow, that's a name you don't hear too often now. You did a very good job with this truck. The girth of the LTI tower ladder on this rig is just right. The decals a just right too. It is nice to see you bring out something "new" like this. Keep up the good work.
