About this creation

When Enalican ships started making Landfall in southeastern Bodus, I made my way there to defend our nation. I joined a small army of Outlaws as they headed towards one of the Enalican camps on the coast. Instead of waiting for the Enalicans to attack us, we attacked the camp, then retreated into the forest. The Enalicans followed us.
Because it was impossible to fight as large groups in the forest, both forces had split up into smaller groups. Elias and I had joined a human assassin and a taksil. Now, we had encountered a group of Enalicans in a clearing. They were a mix of new soldiers for the Golden Army and old raiders. I mustered them. They shouldn’t be a problem.

I turned to Elias. “This will be a test,” I said.
Elias gulped. “What do I have to do?”
“See that commander?” I asked.
Elias nodded.
“Shoot her.”

Elias took aim. I watched his face closely as he aimed. I could see in his eyes that he was having some sort of inner conflict.
Then Elias lowered his bow. “I can’t do that,” he said. “It’s wrong to kill people.”
I frowned. “We will talk about this later,” I said.

Then I shot the commander.

At once, both groups charged at each other across the clearing.

The taksil was the first to go. I could tell from the way he charged that he was terribly inexperienced.

An Enalican raider with a purple cape met the taksil, dispatching him immediately with a stab through the head.

I, in turn, shot the Enalican.

The assassin fared far better. He lunged over an Enalican soldier’s spear and cut the soldier’s neck with his triple daggers.

Then he flipped over the dead soldier’s body and launched himself off the soldier’s back at the next one. The second soldier was dead three seconds later.

I surveyed the skirmish. After only thirty seconds of fighting, four of the six Enalicans lay dead, and only one Outlaw.

The two remaining Enalicans, raiders that had joined the Golden Army, engaged the assassin. They were more experienced than the soldiers. Where the soldiers had engaged the assassin individually, they engaged him together.

As he tried to flip over the raiders, the one clad in gray cut his head off.

Then, the two raiders turned to me. They were wearing matching outfits and weapons, and looked alike. One of them looked familiar...

They charged at me. That was when the one in gray made a mistake: She jumped on a treestump. This gave me a second in which I had a completely open shot. She payed for the mistake with her life.

The other raider halted and turned to the fallen one. “You killed my sister!!!” she screamed.

Then she charged at me, faster than I had anticipated. All I could do was drop my bow and block her blow with my knife. The hit sent me staggering back.

Then she stopped and looked at me. Her face was full of tears. “Qinon?” she asked.

And then I recognized her. “Alice.”

“You poisoned me!” I shouted.

I twirled my knife in my hand. The action activated an enchantment, and suddenly I was holding a sword. I struck out at her, she barely managed to block the blow with her shield.
“Qinon, what are you talking about!”

“You poisoned me and left me for dead!” I shouted at her. My sword hit hers with a loud clang.
“I didn’t poison you, I never poisoned anyone!”

“Liar!” I screamed. My fist hit her on the side of her head. Enchanted by my magic, it hit her with crackling blue energy, sending her flying back. Her weapon and shield landed in the moss where she could not reach them.

“Qinon, please, I didn’t poison you, I don’t know what you are talking about! Don’t kill me, remember night I talked to you, remember to love, please!”
“No!” I bellowed. I felt more angry than I ever had. I hated her. “I trusted you! For the first time in my life, I trusted someone, I trusted you completely, and you poisoned me! You poisoned me and left me to die!”

And with that, I plunged my sword into her abdomen. The snake was dead.

I retrieved my sword and turned it back into a knife with a flick of my wrist. “Come,” I said to Elias.

I was in no mood for more fighting. I turned and made my way North, towards Larpang.
Elias followed, leaving behind a trail of tears at the horror of what he had seen.

Bonus Pictures!

Figless. I switched to a black background.

Tree. Mini bionicle legs make good branches.

The other tree. I used a new technique for both trees, which I forgot to take pictures of. I guess I’ll show how I made the trees at a later date.

Roots! Brown chains make excellent roots.

Bonez!

Antz!

A fallen tree. It adds some cool detail to the scene, but it also severely limits my minifigure posing space.

The Enalicans. Soldiers of the Golden Army fight side by side with Enalican raiders of olde. I used the skull shields because the skull was the first symbol of Enalica.

The Outlaws.

I enjoyed this build. I used the landscaping style from my TTR4 entry and added olive green curves, and tried some new stuff with slopes as well. The trees (the fallen one and the upright ones) were very fun. I tried to include cool details on every 8x8 section, and that turned out much better than the last time I tried.

About the story... I myself am starting to hate Qinon the more I get to know him. I've been developing his character recently, and his actions and personality are making him very cruel and coldblooded. Which is what I intended, but I may introduce some new characters soon, just to keep things balanced. Watch for interesting developments!

I hope you liked it!

Excellent landscaping and trees! As Armon said, the orange leaves really add to the build.

Quoting Mr. Cab Not trying to imply anything. I just used all the gold minifigure parts that I could on one minifigure. :P
That's what I thought. :P It's just that it looks so much like Reia. The helmet, the sword, the scowly face, hey, even the gray cape! All you need are a pair of pearl gold arms and legs and you'd be good to go. ;P Anywho, I didn't have time to say anything about the build earlier, so nowww . . . fantastic work! Beautiful landscaping, and I love the color the dark orange adds to the scene! And wow, that story was pretty dark. You killed everyone! D: But still, nice job, and can't wait for more! ;D

Quoting VAkkron ™ What material did you use for the backdrop? I'm still trying to figure this out for myself. Great job with the story, and I really like that orange tree!
I used poster boards... for the black background, I usually use two really big sheets of black paper.

Quoting Armon Russ That (now-dead) Enalican Commander looks very familiar. :P Are you implying something here? ;P

Good one! Great 'scape...that fallen tree is a great addition. As I've said, I really like Qinon, but yeah, he does seem cold and cruel. I first really took notice of him when he shot that cow. Got my attention! He reminds me of the character Clint Eastwood always played in those old westerns...clearly not a nice guy, but someone you can't help but root for, for some reason.

Quoting The Bane of Bricks The story was really well done, as was the build. I would make one critique however...that headlight brick in the trees truck REALLY bothers me :P
Thanks! I mostly put the headlight brick in so the curve would stay, but I see what you mean.

Lovely! The build looks nice, though the dk. orange doesn't fit that well... That story tho... That's why you posted that other build... Great work! I think you'll win the story category. :)

I love this. Your antihero work is excellent, mostly because of the presence of Elias. If you do decide to add to your roster of "sane" characters, I hope you add a few more crazies as well - opposites contrast nicely, but setting people with similar traits alongside each other can highlight some subtle differences.

Quoting Ben Ehre .... Woah. That. Was. Intense. I really didn't expect for her to die... Yikes. You really do a fantastic job with Qinon and his behavior. Excellent work, on both the story and the build. I really like those trees.
Thanks! Yeah, I need to lighten up my writing. No more fighting for a while, I think.
