Here it is, the looong awaited brandnew Ferrara FDNY 150th Anniversary Ladder Truck. This was my hardest work so far and i'm really proud that i was able to finish it in such a cool quality and with so many nice details especially at the decaling. I think the decaling consits of more than 200! single parts i had to cut, glue or just add to the model. Special thanks to Mr. Franco Loreck from Germany who did the reflecting custom decals for me and another big thank you to THEMAJESTIRIUM from NYC who did some special pics especially for this project. I hope you like this brandnew rig with all the nice details. Have fun and thanks for stopping by.
About this creation
Special thanks to:
Mr. Franco Loreck from Germany for doing the reflecting custom stickers.
And to John aka THEMAJESTIRIUM who did some extra pics for me of this beautiful rig during doing his great videos for Youtube. Thank you very much my friend.
LOOOOOL!! Oh guys, you are absolutely crazy!!!! In a positive way ;) I'm so proud on having such fantastic friends like you! Many many many many many (I think I forget to say many XD) thanks to you Jimmie & Jill to you Oran & Diane and to your partner @ work, Tim Ray. Please say Tim many greets from us in Germany and also a big thank you for his help. Hugs and greets back to you four from me and Julia. Wish you a really nice Sunday. Our weekend is almost done but we had a great one. Thanks again so much!
It was worth all 49 straight hours I was up waiting for this masterpiece of yours to get to like 136. I arranged this with Oran the day you posted it. When it stalled at 112 I have checked it every day. When it got MOTD I knew it would happen. I had my partner a work Tim Ray check it every 30 minutes at work Friday night. When MOTD changed @ 5;15 am you were at 134 and had to respond to 3 likes. I kept MOC pages up and checking it every 30 minutes. Finally @ 1:15 am last night it was at 136. After you gave me Smiley 101 for Station 51 KMG365 I was bound and determined to be the one to give you smiley 137 and place this creation where it deserves to be at the top of the LFC apparatus world. I now can put my all time favorite rig as my new screen saver because it truly is #1. Have a great weekend my friend, Hugs and greets to you and Julia from me and Jill. I am glad you enjoyed it.
Jimmie and Oran my very good friends. You both made my day with this beautiful message. Thank you so much for doing this!!! I really feel honored :) I did it, clicked the link, turned up the volume and started smiling. Was a great feeling reading the comment with the music in background. Thanks again so much, was really a suprise. Many hugs, greets and love from me and Julia to you Jimmie, Oran and to Diane and Jill. Have a beautiful day my very good friends.
I have never commented on this creation because the day you posted this I knew this was the heir to Res1cue's throne as TOP GUN of the LFC apparatus world. So to honor our Friend and his latest achievement, Oran and I say Congrats my friend on a very well deserved MOTD, click on the link, turn up the volume and remember THE CHORUS SAYS IT ALL.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLi-KJJTSyc
Congratulations Sven on this very well deserved MocOfTheDay selection. This is especially well deserved because of your alltime positive commenting and because this Fire truck is an outstanding example of your excellent building skills.
I don't know my friend, I don't know. I think you all are motivating me with your wonderful comments to get better and better with every rig ;) And the inspiration I find here on Mocpages ;) Thank you so much for your really kind words you left here for me.
Another one! How are you so dang amazing at building legos?!? Neverless, this is such a beautiful ladder truck, it looks just like the real thing. Congrats on Moc of the Day Sven, You honestly truly deserve it with all of your stuff, but especially this one.
Hahaha yeeeees baby XD Was really surprised. Normally I start with my own homepage and so I missed it while I was uploading the creation for Oran. Thank you very much my friend!! Couldn't be a better rig for that ;)
Thanks so much again my friend ;) Yeah his videos are awesome and i found him more than a year ago on YT. Love watching the videos too. He's the guy when you wanna see brandnew FDNY rigs in action because he is always up to date. I asked him for helping me out with new pics of this beauty because there were not much pics available in the internet. And he was so kind and took some extra pics especially for me. Were still in contact via YT.
Hi Peter, thanks so much for all your kind words and your really big compliment. Don't worry about that you missed my stuff. There are so many talented builders on Moc so it's no wonder that it happens from time to time. And the activity bar is still broken. Thank you also for adding me as a favorite of yours. Did the same right now and added you as a fav. I wish i had a second one of this beauty for sending it to the FDNY.
Hi Sven! It's a completely mouth dropping experience seeing the pictures! Fantastic work all around! It should be a special dedicated LEGO set as a Thanks giving to the whole Fire Department! I don't know how but i've missed Your creations before. I've added You to my favourite builders!
Hey Lo my friend ;) Yeah i know... such a long time without new stuff from me. But during summer i have so many other things to do, especially at my job and so i don't have so much time for doing new things. But i'll do my best and next will be another FDNY rig ;) I'm doing fine so far except for work. Hope youre well too ;) Greets, Sven Btw, thank you very much for asking.
Thank you so much my friend! I really appreciate your really nice comment. The more favs you have the more is the possibility for missing a creation. So don't care about it my friend. It's absolutely no shame if you miss one of my creations. And due to the the issue with the activity bar it's more possible that you miss something. Thanks again so much and greets to you. Sven
Oh Jack, that's a difficult question. Don't know what to say. I think first take a look on all the nice firetrucks here on Moc and decide what kind of rig you wanna do, which size 5-6-7 or 8 wide, which wheels - big or smaller standart wheels. Use your own imagination and i'm sure you'll have some nice ideas. ;) It's really difficult giving you a direct advice. But i hope it helps a bit. + don't forget the likes ;)
Caleb my friend, thank you so much for the invite to your i think great contest. But i'm not sure if i have the time for participation. The problem is that my time is very limited during the summer because of work etc. Hope you understand that my friend. But thanks again, and if i have the time i'll try my hands on stuff out of my comfort zone ;)
Lo, that's such a nice idea my friend! Don't know what to say. I'm a bit speechless at the moment because you made me very happy. Thank you so much for leaving your very kind comment! And Henry a big thank you to you also, it from you a big compliment ;) And now we leave the 150th comment behind us because this is the 151st ;) Greets to you from Germany and take care my friends.
Hey Matt my good friend. That's so kind from you and you made me smile all over my face with your very kind words. Wow, i'm so happy and it's great knowing you as such a great friend! Say thank you to your brother from me ;) I'm glad he likes it too. Youre very welcome. It's always a pleasure helping you. Thank you also for everything. I really appreciate it!
Oh Oran my very good friend, that means a lot to me and i'm happy about your congrats. I'm so proud of this rig and that it's such a long time on the front page! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Did i say thank you? LOL :)
Sven, did I tell you excellent job? I thihk I have lol. The details on this ladder truck are just amazing. Every little detail that is on the real rig is on this lego. I have showed my brother and he was amazed by it and asked me who built this? I told him my best friend Sven who lives in Germany. Again great job and thanks for everything my friend.
Exhilarating stunning great! As the Fire Department is an important service, it deserves such excellent mocs. Most I like the authentic shape, and features. The reflecting decals are an real eyecatcher.
Yeah, read Oran's comment on your Minions some minutes ago. He's doing some advertising for me, hope it's for free, LOL Thank you very much for your really nice comment and much nicer compliment. Was hard work building this truck but it was worth every minute i spent on it. :)
Okay Sven, after Oran thrilled told me to go here I did it faster as I wanted to and told you: I' m blended by this "eye- candy" one, great stuff and nevertheless great intention to build this...
I prefer a wide range of themes to build s.th. in LEGO (maybe over 200 LDD- MOCs at this time), also some cars and trucks, but I wan' t/can' t hold on with THESE MOCs of you or Oran... 80 + :)
Oh my very good friend thank you so much for your congrats and the link to the awesome fireworks animation video ;) I feel really good now and i'm proud of this truck. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much again!
Congrats my very good friend on being the number 2 creation on "Across MOCpages" today! Well deserving work of Lego "Fire" creationism! In honor of your achievement you deserve a sparkling celebration so here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRCWxuL5bCk Jimmie told me last week that this would be a popular creation of yours! Yea SVEN!!!!!
Hey Steffen, thank you so much for your great comment. I'm very happy about that you like it although youre not into stickers on mocs ;) Yeah, i would use a larger width but then the rigs don't fit on my citys streets. That's the main reason. And because of i'm keeping all my rigs it would be too much work rebuilding them in 7+. So 6+ is the limit ;)
Hi Ty, I'm a inactive VFF in Germany. Welcome on Mocpages brother ;) Thank you very very much for your big compliment. It's much appreciated. Thanks also for adding me as your fav. Will do the same in a few. Really cool that youre building Lego fire trucks, cant wait to see them. Greets to you in Topeka from me in Germany.
I agree with all the others - this is outstanding. I'm not into stickers for MOCs, but this one deserves them very much as it adds an incredible amount of realism to the truck. I would have gone for the 7+ width rather, but have to admit that even though you went for 6+, it looks massive anyways. 5/5 from me:-)
Sven, I'm a firefighter from Topeka, KS who also builds lego fire apparatus and I have to say this is absolutely fantastic!
I like it
May 20, 2015
Wow! This is jaw-droppingly good. It is definitely one of the best, if not the single best, LEGO fire engine I've ever seen. Even without the decals it would be great build, but the superb, almost seamless, decal work really puts it over the top.
The most is selfmade (printed) or selfcutted from reflective tape. Only the stars and the reflective lettering comes from a German company who does stickers and stuff. They are custom made especially for this rig. The webaddress is visible above the pics. Thank you very much for your nice comment ;)
Wow! I'm really excited about your really cool comment and your great comment. You made me smile with your kind words. Thank you so much for that my friend. I'm glad you like it so much! Like i said a comment before. All the hard work, especially at the decals was worth it ;) I'm really proud of this rig.
What is BOAWJD?? Google says nothing about that XD. Thank you sooooo much my very good friend for your kind words and your great compliment. I'm so happy about that you like it so much. Btw, because youre doing jokes often i should expect such comments like your first one here. But it didn't worked because i wasn't online when you sent your first comment. PS: Read your mail and will take a look. You know what i mean ;) Greets, Sven
Oh that's pretty simple. I use paint (paintbrush) on my mac for creating the decals. Thank you very much for your great comment. But the EMS vehicle is not a bus, it's an ambulance ;) If i get new parts i'll do the ambu. Greets, Sven
Hey Sven my very good friend! Haha! You did not expect a comment like my last one did you? LOL Sven I could not help it! Well, this creation of yours is well deserving of all the great comments! Oh, and now for mine... WOW! WOW! WOW!, did I say WOW? Oh, ok, yes I did say WOW! Borrowing a comment from our good friend Jimmie - BOAJWD !
Hey Gabor my friend, thank you sooo much for your great comment and compliment ;) I really appreciate it. Um, there is a little secret, called sellotape which holds the grille elements XD. Put a small stripe behind to hold them in place. That's all. No Legos where harmed by glue ;) I know it's no building technique but it's owed the realism. If you put two 1x2 plates slightly angeled inside of the cab above the grille parts it could hold them in place too. But was too unstable in my opinion.
Amazing work, my friend! You did fantastic job with stickers. It was hard, but I found some interesting techniques with bricks, too, among the stickers! :D A question: Is there something, or only gravity holds in place the 1x2 grille elements on the front?
Hey very nice work on the Anniversary rig. The FDNY anniversary EMS bus would pair very well with this Lego creation. Anyway i love the decals, i have my own fleet of FDNY inspired apparatus and i wondered what program you use to create the decals?
Hey Pal, it's always nice if a can impress you ;) Thank you very very much for your really nice comment. I always appreciate your kind words. Yes, could be possible that it looks bigger because of all the details. :)
Danke, danke, danke. Thank you very much my friend, it's much appreciated.
Hey Jonah, the decals are not a pain because of their small size, it was the amount of them which was a pain. But i was never frustrated ;) Most time workin on a model is relaxing. But for all the decals i had to put my mind on it over many hours. :P That was pain XD
Thank you very much. Like i said, i'm thinking about doing the ambo. But first i need a break from working with the small bricks & decals ;) The last week was a hard one, especially friday and yesterday ;)
Thank you so much for your nice comment Jonah! No it's not in official service. Here some description from NYC.gov: "New Yorkers can expect to see the FDNY150 Fire Truck proudly representing the FDNY in parades, at fire and life safety presentations, and at community events throughout the year. They made an 150th Anniversary Ambulance as well. Can be seen on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvjUSOQzjJY Thinking about doing this one too.
From such a talented builder like you it means a lot to me. Thank you so much for your great comment my friend, this makes me really proud!! Was really a close call doing the pics outside. Had to hurry because it started raining right after i did the last picture ;) I agree with you about the stickers. Without them it would'nt look so nice ;) Thank you very much again!
Leaving you speechless with one of my builds is really a big compliment ;) Thank you so much for your great comment my friend and i'm really proud! Every minute of work to get this truck finished was worth it. Bin wirklich total stolz drauf und der Meinung das dieser Truck mein bisher schönster ist. Hab vielen vielen Dank mein lieber, weiß deine Worte wirklich zu schätzen. Liebe Grüße, Sven
Henrik my friend, thank you so much for your kind words. It's really a big compliment for me and i'm happy that you like it so much. Yeah adding as much detail as possible was very important for me and i'm proud of the result ;)
This is, my friend, one of the best looking most detailed LEGO fire engine MOC I've ever seen! And taking your model outdoor for the photoshoot was a great idea as it looks so realistic in the street. I don't usually like stickers, but this model couldn't be completed without the awesome sticker work you've done for it. Congrats. A+
Sven my friend, this is perfect! Im left speechless, the building technique and stickerjob is more than superb! And its a 6+ wide - with so much detail, it looks just like real! You may be proud now! Excellent MOC! Du hast ja schon länger angekündigt, dass er kommen wird. Das warten hat sich definitiv gelohnt! Weiter so! Mein Lob, und das Lob der anderen Moccer, hast dir wirklich verdient:) greets, ron.
What a fantastic looking anniversary Firetruck! You haven`t saved anything to reach this high degree of perfection. The fluorescent stars and stripes are a very nice touch, but the chromed wheels are really the icing on the cake. Excellent work!
Hi Paulo my good friend, thank you so much for your great compliment and comment. Yes i was a bit confused about the blue of the skyline. Every picture was showing it brighter or darker. So decided using a blue between bright and dark ;) LOL The flag in the windows is a complete other design because i could'nt use the original design. It was really hard work this time but it was worth it :) Love that beauty.
You are probably the only builder on mocpages who could haver pulled this one off! It is absolutely fantastic. Your decal work, as always, is excellent. I can not find the words to adequately express how incredible this is. 11/10!
This is a fantastic build Sven! The decal work as always, just puts it over the top! To be completely honest, this looks better than the actual rig! Was not a fan of the color choices for the 150th anniversary truck, but you still managed to pull off a fantastic rig!
