City Scale Speed Champion, using the SC canopy and hubcaps.
About this creation
long time no see! But since the Speed Champions seem to be an important subject among the MP car builders, too, here my contribution. Since the cars from the sets are too large for City purposes my idea was to shrink them to Town car format. There are 4 MOCs so far (3 in 6w+, 1 in 7w+). The 6w+ cars (McLaren P1, Ferrari 458, Octan Racer, a mod of set 60053) all use the same base (see below) and are quite simple builds without any fancy techniques. Combining those nice hubcaps with the newer Town tires (see below) considerably improves the look in my opinion. Thanks for looking, c&c welcome as usual.
@Yann: Thanks a lot! Yeah, but only due to the new SC parts, especially canopy and hubcaps. I'm buying those sets like crazy ... The P1 at least has some nice bright light orange parts. @Nick: Many thanks, nice to hear from you! I would have taken the surfboard but it doesn't exist in yellow. And I couldn't build the car in bright light orange since the City mudguards don't exist in that colour. Well ...
It seems all has already been said; I subscribe all comments about these great creations. My favoutire is the P1, which I think is way better proportioned than the official SC set. Well done! Oh, and that hubcap adaptation idea is brilliant!
Thanks guys! @Gallardo: Thank you very much! Yeah, I've seen the contest, great idea. I won't participate though since I'm no MP regular. But I surely will comment on your Viper! ;-) @LegoPredator: Thank you! @Oran: Thank you! Of course I'll take a look at them. @Sven: Thanks buddy, hope you both are well. Glad you like the Ferrari, hopefully there'll be a race version, too. @Ron: Thanks a lot, glad you like them! @Gabor: Many thanks pal!
Hey, glad to see these made their way over to here too! there a contest currently going on for speed champs cars, I'd love to see you enter something as well! Oh and thanks again for the wheel idea, used an adaptation of that for my Viper (you may have already seen that) link to contest: http://www.mocpages.com/group.php/25015
