When I went to Church
This has nothing to do with my past story-line, it's more of an abstract build, showing the decline of true churches in our present day.
About this creation
Our churches are in ruin today, we just cater to what the culture wants or we just don't reach out to those people at all. The culture also has torn us down, saying we are just a bunch of religious bigots, why must it be like this? How can we build the church back up again? We have to make the truth known, not just by saying it, but by showing it through our actions, we are God's children. I had to show this somehow, so I built this creation.

Even though it was built to portray today's churches, I still really like the whole idea of this build and I like the color code and rockwork. Any tips on anything?

Great job! I hate seeing how much people just ignore all the evidence for God And choose to follow everything against it. Great job presenting your feeling!

The aesthetics and the message are both great. You should do another one. :)

Great build and abstract concept on the state of the church. I read and replied to your comment on my build you found offensive. Please read it when you have a chance. Keep on brickin!

It all comes down to "compromise, compromise, compromise"... When we turn our backs on the Word of God, serve ourselves, and try to reach out to the world with nothing more than a "we love you and don't care what you do, in fact we're fine with it!", then the power of the Gospel is lost and we find ourselves powerless in the face of the world and the devil with no way to fight back. The Word of God absolutely MUST be fundamental, unaltered, and trusted in our churches. "For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ for IT is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes..." If we remove our foundation, if we turn from the Anchor, Savior, and Redeemer of our souls, what will hold us up? Who will we turn to? How can we go on? My encouragement to each of you is to not let that happen. Get back to the Word. Share the Good News that Jesus Christ loved us so much that He died for our sins and redeemed us from our empty ways of life. And Christ didn't just die for us, but He rose Himself up again and conquered sin and death forever. When we as Christians go back to the basics of God's Word, as we put our trust in Him who is greater than us and all the trials, troubles, and difficulties of this world, then who shall stand against God's chosen people? Who can triumph over us who have been cleansed by the precious blood of Christ? No one can separate us from the love of God while we are looking to Him. Go, proclaim, be the people God has called us to be. Thanks for sharing this soccersocks. May God bless each of you as you follow Him... ~Promar~

I totally agree with you. It's a sad fact but very true. :( That's why us as Christians should know our Scripture! We need that equipped to defend off the evil ones! Even in this evil, broken world we still have hope! Jesus is our hope! Nice build! I really like the stained glass!

Thanks everyone, it does look like we have some mixed opinions. I'm not necessarily saying all churches are like this, some are and some can be at times. Anyway thanks for the comments!

Fascinating vignette! I was drawn in by the build, but I found your commentary interesting too (and I rather agree on some points).

Yes... Very good. Our Church today as a whole is indeed under attack by those who wish to see its destruction. But they will never succeed. For we have Christ's promise that the Church will never be conquered, though it will be persecuted. It is this hope and the strength of our Faith as Christians/Catholics that will lead us one day to our reward, and be with Almighty God forever. Great work, really touching creation.

The build is great although I don't agree with your view on this, but I honestly don't have anything wrong with the builds.

I have to say I don't quite get it, but the build and the techniques are awesome...I can't even think of a critique for it...well done.

I experience a bit of this. If people disagree with your view they sometimes view you as abusive then they abuse you for it! Very hypocritical and with many examples in life. Can I just say though, my church looks much more well maintained :P The bible God's book? Well men did write it... Hence the metaphors.

Excellent! I think a lot of this stems from faulty translations of the Bible. (NIV etc.) That really mess up what God was saying. I have a friend who thinks that Revelation never says God is coming back; thus meaning the world will go on forever. It's messed up.

Using LEGO pieces to show your opinion, and reveal things like decay in the church and other issues is a great idea. I agree wholeheartedly. Petty things like differences in beliefs shouldn't divide us. We are supposed to be a united body of people, not a fighting mob, hurting each other.

I agree with you completely. What happened? There are so many different churches different bibles! in the begin there was one church, one bible, one service that was the same everywhere.

Excellent build! Kudos to you for standing up on what's right. The church as a whole today has decayed, like you said we cater to worldly needs and our own personal wants. Over the years most of the churches have morphed the Bible into "mans book", not Gods Book. We need to change this!
