LoM - FB - War... Or Should Be
Part 6 of Aleric's adventures in LoM. This is also my part of a crossover with Mr. Cab. Enjoy!
About this creation
Hello every-Lego-body! We are in The Lands of Mythron, and I am starting my part a crossover with Mr. Cab , as said above. Oh, and by the way, here's the first part of our story, which I would very much advise reading before this one, or after, if you want to, for a couple reasons. One, Cabby is way, way better than me, in just about all areas of building. Secondly, he's got an awesome story of his own, so do go check it out. Now, look at that. I've gone on and rambled on, taking up all tis room. Oh well. Onto the story!

Since Mythron had invaded Nerogue, their soldiers needed food, water, and weapons to fight the war. And this was one of the Mythronians caravans to try and bring them such. What they didn't know, however, was that they were being watched. In the shadows, out of sight, someone was waiting, waiting for just the right moment to pounce...

As the caravan made its way along the muddy road, the officer in charge kept glancing from side to side. He was worried, although he wasn't sure why. Everything seemed fine.
And they certainly seemed fine to the official that accompanied them. He wasn't worried at all. After all, there was nothing to worried about. This was a public highway, well within the borders of Mythron. No trouble was expected at all.

Of course, they had reckoned without us.

"Alright, drop your weapons!" I shouted as Qinon and I rose from our cover beside the road. Qinon had his bow drawn back, ready to fire. To my left, Lethios stood up, drawing his sword as he did so. The soldiers started as I called out, and started to swing to face us, raising up their weapons.

That was not smart on their part.

Before I had drawn a breath, Qinon had fired the arrow he had on the string, and had whipped another one out of his quiver. The shot knocked the Mythronian knight off his horse, perfectly placed in his throat. Lethios leaped forward onto the rock, his blade ready for combat.
Seeing that the fight was started, I snapped my bow up, aiming down the arrow at the soldier charging towards us.

At the same moment, almost the same second, Alaera sprang from her hiding spot, Lucas Mombassa following close behind. The official was caught by surprise, but he reacted well. Swinging down his short sword, he blocked Alaera's first blow, aimed at his leg.

I didn't pay too much attention to that, however. I wasn't worried about the Bear Clan. They could take care of themselves quite well. It was myself I had to take are of right now. And I did just that, letting the arrow go. It smacked into the soldier's face, a perfect shot.
Qinon had also shot another one of their men, an Enalican from the look of him, wearing gaudy armor that hadn't helped him one bit. Now, Qinon had drawn his knife, and was looking for a target. Seeing no open shots, I started to put my bow away, but had to leap aside as Vergluk charged past me, his sword out and ready for battle. Also Lethios had engaged a Grer in combat, and they were going at it hammer and tongs.

Alaera was busy as well. While the official was busy with defending himself, she sliced hard with her long knife, cutting the horse open. At the same instant, Qinon's eyes caught the official, and he drew back his knife to throw.

However, the horse threw off his aim, rearing on its hind legs, a scream ripping from its mouth. The official, started to fall backwards, but then he jerked, and stiffened. Qinon's knife had found its mark, burying itself deep in his back.

The next thing I saw, the horse had fallen to the ground, throwing its rider as well. Quick as a striking cobra, Alaera leaped up on the horse, ready to administer the death blow. At the same second, Vergluk charged forward towards a mercenary that had been sent sprawling by the flying official.

Time seemed to slow as Alaera leaped off the dying horse, her sword lifted above her head. Then she descended to earth. As she hit the ground, she slammed the blade down with all her strength, driving it completely through his chest. At the same time, Vergluk brought his huge scimitar down at the mercenary's head with a sweeping blow. It sunk deep in the man's face, killing him at once.

The fight appeared to be basically over, at least on this section of the road. I had sent Phareth to deal with the main body, and I was confident that he would succeed. Qinon had sent his apprentice along with him as well, not explaining why, but just doing it.
I had drawn my sword and knife, and now I glanced around. Then I saw that Lethios was still fighting the Grer. Neither one had a real advantage at the moment, but I saw that the Grer, whatever else he might be, was brave and quite skilled as well. He didn't look like a killer. I stepped towards him, weapons raised, wondering if there was a way to keep him alive without taking him prisoner.

"Hey there, Grer!" I called out as I approached him. Immediately I was cursing myself. 'Poor choice of words, Aleric.' However, it did get his attention, as he glanced at me for a second.
"Come to die as well, human?" His voice was low and strained, as he blocked another blow from Lethios. I motioned to him to back off, which he did, rather slowly, not wanting to relinquish the fight. The Grer looked over at me, his face slightly puzzled. "What, you want to finish me off yourself, outlaw?"
I shook my head. "You got that wrong. I'm a Rainosian, officially anyway. This is on my own time. And if you aren't a Mythronian, than I have no quarrel with you."
The Grer cocked his head, confused now for sure. "Then what are you doing here? And are we enemies or not?"
Taking a deep breath, I replied, "If you want to keep fighting, then my men will definitely keep you busy, but I don't like to see a good fighting man killed without reason. Why are you fighting here? Money? Personal reasons? Either way, you can stop this fight, or keep it going. All up to you."

For a second, the Grer didn't do anything, then slowly he lowered his blade. I breathed a sigh of relief, sheathing my sword as well. He turned to face me. "I don't like surrendering, but you made sense. Now, where will you take me?"
I shook my head. "We didn't take you prisoner. You can go where you will, free."
The Grer drew in a quick breath. "You mean that?"
I nodded. "Yes, I do. If you need an escort to get to where you want to go, speak to Qinon, a member of our group. He will direct you to someone who can help you. Is that good enough for you?"
He nodded gratefully. "Yes, yes indeed. Thank you, good sir. My family will be very happy to find out that I am still alive, and well. Who shall I tell them freed me?"
I smiled slightly. "Aleric, leader of the Bear Clan, Qinon the Lost Ranger. I am Aleric, Qinon is in all green."
The Grer nodded to me gratefully to me, then strode off. I motioned to Mombassa. "Lucas, go with him for a little while. Some people might think he's an enemy still, so will you inform them differently?"
Mombassa nodded. "Certainly, Aleric. Drinks all round, eh?"
I sighed. "No, don't get him drunk. You can, as usual, but not him, alright?"

Without saying anything else, Mombassa turned and started after the Grer. I started to move after him, but then was forced to step aside as Alaera came past with one of the horses from the caravan. It had a couple chests tied onto it.

Hearing footsteps behind me, I turned to find Qinon behind me. He had a slight smile on his face. "Well, Aleric, it appears that we are done here. So, I will be taking my leave. I still have a war to fight."
I nodded. "Yes, I know. Hopefully I will join you in it soon. Until next time."

He nodded back, then turned and started to walk away. I watched him for a second, then turned around to see Lethios starting to walk away.
"Hey, Lethios?"
He turned his head. "Yes?"
"Get some men together and clean up this road, then we keep going." Lethios nodded, then turned and started walking to get some off the men. Under my breath, I added, "The sooner I can find my cousin, the better, for everyone. Otherwise, I'm going to get mad, and that wouldn't be good. Not for me, not for him, not for anyone."

After everyone was gone from the area, this is what it looked like.

So there you are! My crossover with Cabby, complete! Hope you liked it! Now, on to the figless shots!

An overall of the whole build. I built it all yesterday, and took pictures, edited them, and posted them all today! I'm rather impressed with myself!

The path. I kind of like it, not sure why.

The none-path area.

Another closer shot of the rocks. Why did I take extra photos of the rocks? I don't know.

A parting shot of Qinon walking off to do whatever the Lost Ranger's got up his sleeve next.

Hope you enjoyed it! Please like it, and leave a comment below. So, until next time... Allonys!

Quoting Mr. Cab Sorry about the late comment. I love the story. You portrayed Qinon really well. For the build, the 2x2 tiles on the path are somewhat awkward, but everything else looks nice. I'll have to catch up on your first season now...
Thank you for checking it out. Glad you liked it! For all of you, my next part will be coming out quite soon!

Sweet! I dig the path too, although the grassy area is a bit Spartan. I'm a fan of your Mombassa character, and I quite enjoy Mr. Cab's Qinon the cow killer as well (yes, I know the cow lived), so the X-over is quite a treat. Very brutal, I dig it! Nice work man!

Nice build! And nice crossover! The story, while full of nice action, would have been nice with some more characterization/plot, but it's nice none the less! @ Hildigrim: Not necessarily, he's just expressing his wishes. :)

Very nice! I think this is your best build, as far as landscaping, if not story. Good work!
