My GAIA ship for 2015! This one's 206 studs long and 16 studs wide at the edges curving out to 18 studs wide in the middle.
About this creation
HMS BRETONNICA - circa 10039 AD

Built almost 30 years after the fall of Bretonnica, this battleship was a gift from Earth to the fledgling world of New Bretonnica populated by the 35 million various survivors of the planet destroyed in 10010 AD by the Draggone during the Alien war.

Long Live GAIA!!!

Great to see that you're having fun building these monsters again. I think that the WIP shot, showing the chassis really brought home to me the scale that this ship is on.

That's a whole big chunk of red and blue awesomeness. I don't know why it looks so good, it almost shouldn't work; but it really does!

Quoting Caleb Ward See,usually I'm not a fan of these designs, I mean, it's unique, but doesn't look that good, but this one grew on me, maybe because I like extremely huge ships

Quoting Crimso Giger Another HUGE proof that theses red/blue, celestial "boats" theme is one of the best theme ever created by an AFOL. Sometime I almost can see "vintage sets" in my head, as if GAIA as always been a real theme. Congrats for such an achievement ! On the detail level, I think the guns position is quite original, a bit odd at first sight, but in fact unique and very cool !
:) Thanks so much for the kind words Crimso, and of course for the encouragement early on...

Quoting Marc "Edge" R.unde Beautiful ship, dude. Gotta love that interesting gun arrangement on the main deck. I need to try that hull curving technique myself... Long live GAIA!
Oh yeh, that curving teechnique was so simple yet effective! I have thought some even better ways to do it again next time. Basically curve the hull in much the same way as you build a round tower. Use heaps of 2x2 bricks and imagine the curves you get out of a battleship hull!

yeh I was trying to mimic some modern warships as they mount their missiles in suchan array, and I thought I'd like to mount cannons as such!

Quoting Jonathan Glass Your ships are always so huge! This one has a little less character than some of your others, but still very cool. I like the interesting use of the star wars cannons.
:) Cheers Jonathan, yes I suppose this one is really quite logical in its design as compared to some of whackier ship. Thanks for visiting champ:)
