A Mecha is only as good as his home. Here is a MOC of my latest creation, a hangar for my Mechas and exosuit. As can be seen in the photos, the build is pretty huge, and contains about 4200 pieces. It was a really fun build, scroll down for details and additional pictures. This post is for the hangar itself, but as can be seen from the photos, the mechas are included. For further information on the mechas, browse the rest of my models as there are individual posts for them.
About this creation

With lights:

Details: Something that is not shown in most photos is that behind the large grills at the top half of the hangar are additional greebles (hoses, nobs, electrical hardware). I tried to capture such greebles in the following photos.

Just to give you an idea how big this diorama is, here is a comparison to the mechas with an exosuit. My design of the extreme exosuit is literally 3 exosuits together (give or take a couple pieces).

I learned a couple things when building this project that I thought I would share. First, building large dioramas can be extremely expensive. However, when viewing the final results, only one side is seen, and therefore on the opposite side any leftover bricks can be used. As can be seen in the photo below, I used a rather polychromatic mix of plates and bricks to complete the structure; leftover pieces that were just lying around the house that while aesthetically horrible, they are structurally sound.

Also, when using lights, either Lego Power Function lights or some third party (I used lights; the degree the lights are pushed through the brick affects the amount of light emitted greatly. For my MOC, I needed less light; not more. More just washed out all the greebles that I tried to highlight. So I started with the lights pushed through the bricks a lot and too much light was emitted; like this:

But then I moved the lights back like this and got better results.

Thanks! It has since hit the scrap pile. But a fun, and different build (for me at least) all the same.

Great hanger! I can't believe that those mechs are three times as large as the Exo-suit! Cool. :D

Quoting Caleb Walker Dude! This is amazing! Your best work yet!
Thanks for the kind comment. Not sure it is my best...I primarily build with Technic and people really seem to like other genres rather than Technic. I think it is rather something in a more popular genre rather than my best build. But again.... thanks for the kind comment.
