a bit farther on now, still plenty to do but the overall shape is there now,as this is the 1944 version after many upgrades in its history the bridge is quite a bit different to the original, although this is just short of 17ft long its looks tiny compared to the Mighty Mo sitting alongside, waiting on a few orders from bricklink now as running low on pieces, the funnels, rangefinders the circular things the turrets sit on turrets themselves are all held together using technic 1x2 with 2 holes these enable the slanted bricks to create the curves,100s of them so far, hopefully next update will see it nearly finished, the writing on the hull should say TA KA O according to the internet,i think the MAYA had writing on its hull in peacetime,

Quoting Henrik Jensen Absolutely incredible to see how quickly it progresses. And it looks fantastic. I am looking forward to see all the fine details being added, such as masts, aircraft and catapult and all that gives life on deck. I wish you Happy New Year, and good luck with the Takao.

Quoting Matt Bace Wow! Looking fantastic. I'm impressed by your attention to detail -- things like the ladders on the primary turrets. Which leads me to ask what are you using as reference material? Whatever it is, it must be pretty good.
thanks for the nice comment i am using anatomy of the ship takao, these are really great books showing a lot of detail etc, most of it is line drawings of the ship each deck level, funnels bridge guns etc,i have most of these even the one on the IJN Fuso(cost a small fortune)very tempted to do the Yamato(favourite ship of mine)
