Quoting Jebles Henson Woah, this is really impressive man. I'm new to this site, is there any way to download the instructions or will I have to have a go at builiding something like this freehand? Great build bro.
Thanks! Me and computers don't get along so I have no instructions.

Quoting Cameron Wilson I know this is my second comment but this is just so awesome! Even when it's an old car the batmobile looks cool! And you've recreated it beautifully! Well done! How do you get doors like that to work. I can't. =)
Thanks again Cameron! If the hinge point is to the outside you need a gap behind the door. I put it to the inside then the gap is to the front. Hope that makes sense.

Quoting Clayton Marchetti Thanks MCLegoboy! I was wondering that myself, but since I don't have this comic book my best guess is since there's bullet holes in the windshield. They must be pursuing another car full of bad guys, and Batman is going to jump onto that car. A stunt way too dangerous for Robin. How's that?

Thank you Sylvester! I got the idea for the cover when I was looking for reference pics online and found pictures of the comic cover and read an article about its significance. Maybe I'm a horrible comic book fan, but I had never seen the Batmobile look like this. The coloring especially stands out to me on this one. Great work, sir.
Thanks Tim! The first time I saw this was back in 2005 when Corgi made a line of Diecast batmobiles through the ages. I collected them all, and I really liked this one. Even The Franklin Mint made this car. While I was looking for reference material I ran into pictures of the comic cover, and I really wanted to integrate it into the build. Those red strips on the fenders were challenging. BTW how's the pirate ship coming?

Quoting Dr. Monster Hi Clayton. I'm not going to build the red batmobile. So feel free to go for it. I'm going to explore my Medieval Batman theme again at some point. The original batman costume would look great with that batmobile, it's also red. As for the minifig head, I think it works well and looks really accurate.
Thanks again Doc! I really loved that medieval Batman you made. I can't wait to see you revisit that idea again.

Quoting Dr. Monster Wow Clayton! I absolutely love this. I have been looking at some old batmobiles lately myself (the original red one). The main pic is fantastic I can't believe how well you've captured that cover. The Batmobile itself is truly amazing. Your shaping, details and functionality are all brilliant. You always manage to amaze me.
Wow Doc thank you! Pits funny you mention the red car. I've thought about that one too. I really love the cars from the 20s and 30s. I got the idea for the cover when I was looking for ref pics for the car. I kept running into the picture of the cover for Batman #20. This was the first time the Batmobile graced the cover. That's when it hit me to build the cover in brick. I was very pleased with how the Batman and the Bat sysmbol came togther. I just wish I could have made the head in brick. I just didn't have the parts I needed in dark blue. Many thanks my good friend!

Quoting matt rowntRee Holy frijoles, Brother! That is truly some Artwork there. The shaping of the fenders, the bat face on the grill, and dat fin! It's so futuristic, well, for 1943. ;) Your work on the cover is top notch with the lettering and the exploding through the page. Outstanding!
Thank you Brother! Sorry I'm slow responding, been busy with the kids. What did we do before cheese slopes and curved slopes? Now if lego would make concave slopes there would be nothing we couldn't build muw ha ha! I was really happy with how the cover turned out. I think I hurt my little Brain trying to match the lettering with the Bat sysmbol. How the ship coming along? Thanks again brother!

Thanks Buddy! Sorry it took so long to respond. I think I'm done with lego ideas. I just don't know how to market them properly, and I'm not one to stick them under people's noses if you know what I mean. From what I seen you also have to make staff pick a couple of times. If it does make it you have to watch them tear your creation apart and rebuild it. I really appreciate your encouragement though. How about you? You have a lot of fantastic builds to put on Lego. I'd be just as happy to see something of yours in the store and say hey I know that guy! :-)

I don't think I've seen this one before, but I remember another one from the 70's that had the strange "bat face" on the front. You know, as skilled as you are, you could do a whole series of different era Batmobiles. There must be about fifty or so. Great build with lots of attention to detail as usual.
Thank you very much! Yes there were many Batmobiles that had the bat mask on the front. I always thought the 43's looked the best. I Don't know about all of them, but there are quite a few more I'd like to do. Thank you again!
