B-17G Flying Fortress ''EL-LOBO II''
This is my B-17G flying fortress ''EL-LOBO II'' of the 457th bomb group. I hope you enjoy it! :)
About this creation
On March 14th, 1945 the 457th targeted the railroad junction and marshalling yard at Lohne, Germany. Assembly was accomplished without difficulty and the run on the target was visual. Ground haze and smoke from bombing by previous groups obscured the target so bombing was done on the marshalling yards by triangulation. Results were fair to good. Flak was moderate but five aircraft sustained damage.

Plane s/n 42-32101,named "El Lobo II," and piloted by Lt Donald L.l Snow was disabled by flak over the target at Lohne, Germany. They managed to keep the plane aloft and landed in friendly terrority in France and were returned to Glatton.

Length: 74 ft 4 in converted to 74 studs long.
Wingspan: 103 ft 9 in converted to 102 studs wide.
Height: 19 ft 1 in converted to 19 studs tall.

I do not know how the crew became POWs, but this is what 457thbombgroup.org says.

Pilot Lt Donald L. Snow POW
Copilot Lt Glenn R. Sewell POW
Navigator Lt Eldon R. Smith POW
Toggleer Sgt Robert L. Todd POW
Aircraft Engineer Sgt Joseph E. Adams POW
Radio Operator Sgt Richard C. Grace POW
Left Waist Gunner Sgt Evert B. Heins POW
Ball Turret Gunner Sgt John Corbett, Jr. POW
Tail Gunner Sgt Fate Jones POW

Quoting Jerry Temple I hope you'll see this since it looks like the last comment was over a year ago, but this is an EXCELLENT rendition of "El Lobo II". I have a B-17G kit from Revell that is waiting to be built and one of the options is to paint it as "El Lobo II". You, sir, just made up my mind with this excellent build, "El Lobo II" it is.
Thank you! I'm glad you like it! Happy to be of help with deciding on which one to paint your plane as.

Quoting Nate Andrews Spectacular work inside and out!!! This is the best plane I've seen in ages! When somebody makes a plane this big, it's usually done digitally. But seeing this real bricks is just... stunning. Here's your mandatory 5/5.
Thank you Nate!

An absolutely excellent B-17 model, both in terms of shape and details. The glass nose and the turrets looks really realistic. One of the best B-17 out there.
