Category: Aftermath
War may be made out to be glorious, and at times that may be so. But death and hurt are a very real concept and always follows in the wake of war. Victory may be both Sweet and bitter. How do your characters deal with Victory? by celebration? or mourning? or a little bit of both?

I would first like to say a huge thank you to all of the judges for this year's competition. I have judged once and I know that it takes a lot of hard work to pull off a contest such as this. A special thanks to RBC for creating this contest and for sticking with it even when less people than he had hoped for entered.

Now for the build. Like last round I was really pressed for time but I must say with the time that I did have I really did try my best. I don't think I've ever seen this scene done before, so when I saw the category I knew I had to do it. For those of you who haven't seen The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey this scene is inspired by the quote:

"Our forces rallied and drove the Orcs back; our enemy had been defeated... but there was no feast or songs that night, for our dead were beyond the count of grief. We few had survived and I thought to myself then 'There is one I could follow. There is one I could call King'"

Thank you to everyone who has supported me this far; unfortunately this will probably be my last build for a while. For those of you in LOM I don't think I will be coming back anytime soon, I'm sorry for leaving without any notice. I may do some more building starting in November, but only time will tell. So thank you, all of you, for making the time I have spent here enjoyable. Understand this is by no means and end, simply a break. Or at least that's the hope anyway.

Thank you for viewing and God bless!

This was an excellent build, Fraser, and it was a pleasure to compete against you in the final round. :)

Quoting David FNJ This is a great scene. The landscaping really flows together well. However, Jacob's entry managed to impress me more, so he has my vote. Will you still be on the pages while taking a break from building?
I will still probably find the time to be one at least once a day, so yes.

Great Idea however your opponents build is better built. He has my vote.

Amazing build Fraser! The colors and textures used in this build really add to the solem mood that I feel that you were trying to show. However, I feel like it is missing something. Nothing big, just something (perhaps maybe a small "pop" of color to add a little more "life" to the scene). My vote goes to Jacob, however! Still, an phenomenal build. Good luck with the other judges! ~RBC

Very nice MOC, although I do wish there would be more stuff based on the book and not the movies.
