the Haque destroyer was developed around his powerful AMP-coil canon which can virtually shut down most electric system on a ship it hits. It has proven a decisive factor in several fights against the Unians fleets. The destroyer was used to immobilize a ship, knocking it's weapons systems allowing a quick destruction by other ships with minimal damages.
Soon, Unians realized that the AMP-coil canon required all power from the haque, making it the only weapon of the fighter leaving it exposed to mono-fighters, the battles changed from heavy gun-fire from super-sized ship to dog-fights between small fighters.
However the high cost of the ammunition and coils in the canon make it a rather limited space craft, the propulsion is sorely based to counteract the recoil of the canon, giving it a poor maneuverability.
Pirates quickly realized its potential, and in the XX752.25 (yup it's a fictional date ^^ ) a massive number of Haque destroyers were stolen from the federation's main factory in the Veridian sector. The administration quickly filled the security gap and prevented more destroyers from being stolen, and executed a dozen of "guilty" officials. The pirates rapidly modified and adapted the Haque, adding several gaz vector projectors to increase the maneuverability and become a even bigger problem to intersolar commercial flights.
I really wanted to do a very asymmetrical fighter, and yet making it realistic, so I keep the basic shape of the cockpit the same, and yet keeping it very different (the red window versus the transparent cockpit). I wanted to do a uncommon design, and i kinda believed i succeed... I am still not very happy on how it turned out, especially the belly, I might do a Haque 2.O one of these days...
