Slash awoke. His eyes fluttered but then closed again, to weak to open them fully.. "Welcome back to the land of the living." He heard a familiar voice say.
"Blast..." He stammered and opened his eyes. It was only then that he realized that his hands were chained, behind his back around a giant wooden pillar
"You're lucky." Said Falcon from nearby. "Clearly they want us all alive."
He looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings. They were in a huge rectangular room with ancient writing and carvings adorning the wooden walls and ceiling and at one end was a set of huge wooden double doors. At the opposite end was a balcony overlooking most of the city streets below. There was a long line of giant wooden pillars set a few meters into the room and it was to one of these that Slash was tied.
R.K. was stood in front of the pillar next to him, arms tied behind him in the same fashion as Slash. To Slash’s left was Flare, also bound.
In fact, every member of both the U.R.S. and F.I.S. leaders were in that room, each tied to a separate pillar. A few were still unconscious but most were awake looking around at each other or struggling with their chains.
Iadsgb was on the other side of Blast. “Another fine mess you’ve gotten us all into Blast.” he said with a sideways glance.
“If you recall, it was you who made the first deal with Bisvernicof I think, Iadsgb.” Blast retorted and silenced the F.I.S. leader.
“So now what?” Hess asked from somewhere up the row.
But just at that moment the huge doors opened and in glided Bisvernicof, Smirnicof, Alldecof and around twenty OvaSeer warriors. The doors shut behind them and the boom echoed around the wooden room.
“Oh great; the intergalactic OAP’s are back.” Fixer grumbled as the ancients came to a stop in front of Blast and Iadsgb.
“Welcome to our home!” Bisvernicof spread his arms.
“Where are we?” Blast asked.
“This is the palace of our ancestors, here in the heart of Alsodo city.” The head OvaSeer continued and started to pace up and down the line of captured leaders.
“What do you want Bisvernicof? Why have you brought us all here?” Iadsgb asked.
“Because for too long, the universe has been torn apart by your war. I warned you both! Several times! You have stood divided for too long!”
Little did the head of the OvaSeers know, as he spoke his monologue, secretly Blast was slowly wriggling his hands out of his bonds and at last freed them but kept them hidden behind his back.
“Unity could have stopped the galaxy from falling into this crisis! Unity! But instead you bickered and quarreled and split from each other like an old married couple.” Bisvernicof wandered up and down the line, looking into the eyes of every single man and, in Jelli’s case, woman he went past. “So now, it is time, for it to end. I will end this. I will save the galaxy from turmoil once again as we OvaSeers always have done, with no recognition, no credit, no thanks, no anything. But that is what we do. What we always have done for generations. This will just be one more crisis added to our list of solved problems.
I, will, end this.”
He finished solemnly as he stopped in-between Blast and Iadsgb who looked at each other. It was then that Iadsgb noticed Blast’s free hands and the later nodded to him slowly, unnoticeably, but Iadsgb saw and nodded back in return before the pair faced the OvaSeers once again.
“Unity will not save ye now!” snarled Bisvernicof and drew his viroblade and prepared to strike.
But just at that moment, the huge doors slammed open once again and Spillicof stumbled in, blood covering his long robes. Bisvernicof, Alldecof and Smirnicof all spun round to face him.
“We’re under attack!” he shouted as smoke drifted into the room along with the sounds of gunshots.
“Who dares?” Bisvernicof demanded in anger. Blast used this distraction to reach over and untie Iadsgb as well then returned to his post and reached the other way, untying Slash and nodded for him to pass it along the line.
Iadsgb had done the same and had untied Fixer who now freed Stallion.
“I don’t know sir! They fight like with the style of the F.I.S. but they clearly haven’t come to free them.” Spillicof replied, panting.
“How can you be sure?”
The head OvaSeer’s question was answered as a Rodian in heavily customized clone armour minus the helmet charged, shouting, into the room, his gun aimed at Iadsgb.
But suddenly a long brown rope wrapped around his neck and with a flick and a neck-snapping crack sent him spinning backwards through the air,
landing him sprawled on the floor as Zuricof, another OvaSeer, flicked his wrist and the whip in his hand coiled as he tucked it away.
Bisvernicof looked down at the armour of the dead soldier. “G.C.C.” he read to himself.
