LAV-45 Badger
About this creation
One of Armored Engineering’s first projects, the LAV-45 Badger was designed as a more advanced supplement to the LAV-25, and the LAV-35. During development many sacrifices were made to allow for a greater reconnaissance capabilities, mainly in the troop compartment. It has a very sleek profile, and the large amount of ground clearance helps it traverse a wide arrange of terrains. Like its predecessors, the 275 bhp diesel engine makes the LAV-45 a very quite vehicle, and its gel coolant system keep the heat signature fairly low. Its light armor can withstand most light arms fire, and can even take several RPG rounds (with a cage, of course). The 2 view ports are made of level 4 ballistic glass, and its air intake ducts are fitted with chemical and nuclear filters, allowing it to drive through contaminated zones safely.

Right side.

Left side.

Back, hatch closed.

The LAV-45 allows for a squad of 8 infantrymen to be carried into combat zones, however its low roof creates problems for taller passengers.

The standard variant of the LAV-45 requires only a crew of 2. A gunner/commander, and a driver. As the primary weapons system of the LAV-45, the XM-173 RWS, is remotely operated, the gunner/commander is much safer then in other vehicles.

A number of variants have also been developed, although I lack the resources to actually build them:

Infantry fighting vehicle, armed with a 25mm cannon in the turret.

Anti-tank unit, armed with anti-tank guided missiles in a remote turret.

Mobile Gun System, armed with a 125mm gun in a remote turret.

Command and control variant, equipped with advanced communications gear.

Fire support variant, used to assist artillery and air attacks.

Medical Evacuation Vehicle, or MEV. The ambulance for the combat zone, used to move injured soldiers from the front lines to receive medical care.

Thanks for looking!

Looks great. Good way to make use of LDD for the other variations. Is there enough clearance on the interior?
