Named after the awesome album I was listening to while building this, and I feel that title conveys some of the mundanity in this scene.
About this creation

Here's a bit of a top-view of the thing. This MOC was also on display at LEGO World 2009 in Zwolle, the Netherlands. Still the world's biggest LEGO event ;)

No, that's not the new 10197 Fire Brigade, nor is it based on it, it's just a fire house, get over it.

Crazy youth (actually that's a stunt-double, the crazy youth himself is downstairs drinking beer).

This is the third version (franchise?) of the Mindcorp Building. Who can find the second version (not in this MOC)?

Tommy Armstrong opened up a shop? Cool stuff :)

More storefronts and Carbohydrates' Mustang (note that the stickers are stuck on the exact parts where they are stuck on in the Speed Racer set they come from, if that makes sense).

A view down the street.

A variation on the Space Truck Getaway, the Town Truck Getaway.

Stuff's happening on the roof. (yes Jenn, I advertised) ;)

More rooftop drama (if I ever start a real-life soap, I will lock people out, up on a roof and call it that, Rooftop Drama)

There's a lift and a stairway that lead down to the subway platform.

What's Robosmurf doing there?

Some people just waiting for the subway, I know, how mundane, welcome to Planet Monday.

9V subway train :D

LEGO Digital Designer is so free, even a bum can use it.

She doesn't care that she's about to walk into a dead plant.

Full view of the subway train.

The back looks pretty boring. That's why it's the back.

I am always amazed at your creations. They are so complex, fully developed, balanced, and creative. You don't do just a single building ... you do a whole complex with a full substructure, multiple buildings and scenes that could each stand alone, and the details are as superb as the whole. Not to mention the humor and the mini-stories contained in them. Obviously, I'm a big fan :-) |

This is so amazing, that it's really hard to comment, what fell in my eyes. The architecture of the buildings is lovely, stylish and looks just a perfect city street. But then there's more...the train, the station one floor below, all the action on the roof, even the back is more than just a back. Excellent is not even close to this one. |

I like the wealth of detail. I have always enjoyed European architecture, which reminds me of fancy cakes and desserts. I don't know why; it just does. Anyway, Escape From Planet Monday is inspiring. I have been working with the technique of making each floor a separate, removable unit, and I was wondering if Aliencat had done the same. |
