MY OVERALL DESIGN THEORY:
I strive to make more playable designs I think others would like. Ones that kids and others could make and play with and have fun with. I also try to keep my designs within the zone of current lego designs in terms of scale.
I could try to do very detailed complex ones, yet I feel many of those are out of the reach of many who love lego. I want to create designs others can create or build upon.
I keep my own power point lego library which I started back in 2000. I used to take pictures but then found it hard to remake something. So many designs have tons of pictures for rebuilding notes, and some actually have full power point building instructions using those pictures. The file number you see is also the file number from my personal library.
I do catalog my designs and also use a series number. So a series 1 is usually the first or a prototype for later, and a series 2 indicates major design changes to a line. Because lego continues to make new parts to use a new series is always possible. You probably already see much of this when people re-design older lines and create stuff that could never be done back then.
So if you are young or don't have a huge lego collection yet do not worry. JUST KEEP BUILDING! I've been inspired by some of the most simple designs and used elements from them to create some of library that appears on here.
The best part of this is being able to get lost in your creation and building...so never give up building!
