Rather than flooding GD I think a new thread is called for.

There is discussion on what to allow and what not. It is a sensible point and we should be able to talk about this respectfully I think.

My 0,02:
1)Take time to think this through and don't rush new rules for round 2 but rather wait for next year.

2)Allow digital mocs as they have as many pros as cons.

3)Recoloring (no matter if that is in LDD/studio/etc, PhotoShop or with paint) falls into the same category as modding/cutting/glueing parts and should not be allowed.

4) I'd also like to see that things like wheels, torsos and hinges are counted as multiple pieces rather than one. I can see reason to see this differently but with an 8-piece limit, figs and wheels are hardly used anyway. Tyres and hands are are much more common.

There is discussion ... more common.

I tend to agree with these, but I think point number four should be revised because torsos and other parts of the like *are* shipped as one piece. It would be sad to deny recolouring, though, as I've seen several cool creations that wouldn't be possible without it.

If digital MOCs stoop being allowed, I'm dropping out. I don't have the brick collection to pull off contest-worthy builds.

If anything, restrictions would only be made to your selection being composed of parts that actually exist and not purely digital recolors. I think you'll be fine.

Given that I generally don't color based on any sort of restriction and don't generally look up what parts are in what colors, I still will likely be unable to continue.

I don't know about LDD, but stud.io lets you filter for availability.
