Just don't forget about your own piece limit contest. I'm in on that one, too.

You know what. I may actually give this ago. I haven't entered a contest in a long time and I'm sure I can come up with SOMETHING using 8 parts!

I would love to participate, but looks like unfortunately I will not have enough time to enter, with school and BrickCon prep. I'm excited to see the entries though! Also, shouldn't the abbreviation be "FEPBC" (Since it's the fourth year instead of the third)?

Aw.

TEPBC stands for The Eight Piece Building Challenge, but yeah, FEPBC would be good.

We've kept the term "TEPBC" for four years, and I'm not sure anyone wants to change that. But nice idea. :D

We won't pity you, but anything you post might just be funny enough to push you to the next round. I say go for it. It'll be a lovely surprise to see the fruits of your labor when you see fully again. :)

Hey guys! Got my entry done, but I'm trying to figure out how to take pictures of it since my photo room also doubles as a guest room (actually, it's kinda the other way around) and we have guests :) I'll have it in by the deadline, though (even if it looks like they were taken with a potato) :)

Are you able to get the stuff you need to take the pictures? For me, I have a couple of desk lamps with tracing paper, and then I have my background with is just some larger paper. Just find yourself some paper, make sure the lighting is good, and then take a picture. Unless you really have no place to set something up, even really small and for just a few minutes, then I can't see why this is as impossible as you make it sound. And you've still got a few weeks, it's not like you don't have time to figure something out.

So... judging by other people's entries... I take it props are allowed? Backdrops, minifigs, fire etc?

Yes, but you MUST list the item as a prop. I'll have to contact the other builders about this.

I'd like some general clarification on piece counting for future rounds (as I've already posted mine); I've always believed that everything that's separable (without breaking it) should count as 1... How else would you (for instance) count hands if they were used for other things than hands?

If you created the model in LDD, then there is very strict control connections - non-standard are not supported. I'm often faced with the fact that I was not able to use some solutions previously tested with the real parts , mainly for naval gun mounts. So everything should be fine.

While I'm not the final arbiter on this (that would be the admin running the contest) I will agree that LDD mocs have strict controls on piece placement in the files. E.g. technic pins will not line up with SNOT bricks in LDD because LEGO does not consider that a valid connection. The parts used (which appear to be the old style 'tunic') are connected, but in real life would easily fall off if a pin were not inserted because they have a very very marginally larger radius than the SNOT stud. However, it is a possible build just a difficult one to maintain together because of that. I may be overruled, but I think it meets the requirements and intent for the contest, and since LDD is a strict LEGO product, I think it's a valid argument.
