round 5
 Group admin
Hi everybody,

For the next round, I would like to say that I would like it if everyone in my bracket could vote a bit more quickly. Last year I did not like it at all that the judging took a long time. It is pretty tense. In round 4, it took a lot of time before judging was done and Mark did not even vote. I'm sorry if I sound a bit harch, but I do really not like it if judging is slow.

Elio

It looks like it's going to be Classical Bricks vs. John Snyder.

It looks like it's going to be Classical Bricks vs. John Snyder.

And it seems we're all done voting now.

Who wants to post The Finals? I think it's Mark's turn to add a round (or maybe City who added the R1 scores but no round yet), but of course it would be an honor for everyone else (including myself) to do so, as well.

(Either way I think we should post it as soon as possible, since Classical Bricks won't be able to build after July 30th)

Welcome to THE FINALS of the Middle Earth Lego Olympics! The two finalists are:

John Snyder (Barad Dur Bracket) vs Classical Bricks (Orthanc Bracket)

(Please make sure to keep the contest rules in your mind:)
http://www.moc-pages.com/group_conversation.php?id=25974&topicid=105762

Certain rules change and alter between Round 1 and the elimination rounds, so it's important to note the differences. Also, please carefully read all of the following before asking any potential questions:

Round 6 ends at 11:59pm MOCpages time on 29/7/17.

The theme for The Finals is "Switched Teams"

I think this category is as cool as it is crazy and it will hopefully give you many awesome ideas! Some examples: Aragon and the hobbits in a circle stabbing the Witch-King on Weathertop, an evil version of Rivendell, a white Barad-dur with a beautiful woman's eye instead of Sauron's Eye, or the Nine White Riders who are sent out to bring joy and peace to the peoples of Middle Earth.

Can't wait to see your interpretations of this round. Oh and: Really crazy builds are welcome!! Good luck!

Required for the Round 6 entries:

-Title your entry: MELO Round 6: [your name] vs. [your opponent’s name]

-Provide a WORKING link to your opponent’s homepage or entry (depending on which of you posts first), placed preferably near the top of your entry’s page. You can also include a link to the MELO homepage if you’d like (appreciated, but not required).

-State you’re category, preferably near the top of your page.

Your judges are Brick Ninja, City Creator, Elio Salsano, Jonathan Demers, Mark Murphy and Michael Kringe.

Now, Let THE FINALS Begin!!!

I'm not 100% sure how we are deciding/voting for 3rd/4th place between Mr. Unknown and Carter Witzenburg. But regardless my vote goes to Carter. His build seems more polished and over all better.

I would agree with you, Brick Ninja. I did not know that there was supposed to be a vote for 3rd and 4th place.

I vote for Mr. Unknown! His work on the tree crowns impressed me. Carter's build looks good from a technical point of view, but I miss the "special" thing about it.
