I'd be happy to judge again this year if you need judges.

Have you been inviting people? R are you just letting them come in naturally?

I've invited a few people, but the group is still private and invite-only at the moment until I get stuff figured out.

Since this contest is affiliated with the castle TECHNIQUES group, is judging based, in part, on the techniques we use? Or how is judging balanced and distributed?

I can't speak for the other judges, but that's a yes for me. Go as fancy as possible.

In the rules thread, it states:

"There are three main things that entries will be judged on.

1) Use of innovative and interesting building techniques (Parts usage)
Interesting parts usage, new techniques

2) Overall quality
Build quality, presentation, etc.

3) How well it fits into the category"

I hope that helps!

D'oh. I should have reread the rules section. Thank sounds like a good system, thank you!

I'm guessing the answer is no, but I'll ask anyway.

Could 2 people collaborate on an entry?
It talks about 1 moc per person in the rules, but I didn't see anything about 1 person per moc.
We can already ask others for wip advice, so it doesn't seem that far off, but it of course goes against convention.

Unfortunately, no. It would be unfair to the other contestants.

I just read the categories, do I pick just one, or does the MOC have to focus around all of them?

You can't build multiple different entries, but you can have multiple parts that make up a single MOC. So they don't have to be physically connected, but they should all be part of a single build. I hope that answers your question, let me know if you need clarification. :)

Yes, fantasy entries are allowed. Basically it should fit into the general theme of castle.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, but if you are able to build something that fits both the MELO category and one of the LCBTC categories, you are allowed to enter both with the same build. However, you will have to post twice because your entry for LCBTC will need to be titled "LCBTC R1..."

So I want to build in the Mining Incident category, but it has to be medieval themed. Basically, how fantastical can I get? Are things like orcs allowed?
Can't believe I haven't even started building for this yet! D:
EDIT: Never mind, you answered a similar question earlier...I just saw that now...

It has not yet appeared, but if you're new to MOCPages, it usually takes at least a few days for it to be approved by a moderator.

Yeah, orcs and fantasy stuff is allowed. As long as it loosely fits in the castle genre, you're good!

Hey, I've just recently fallen ill and have not been able to work on my entry.
Seeing as I'm only a little more than half finished, I may not be able to post it before the deadline, I will try. Though if I can't, could I post the next day?

Yeah, we've discussed it a bit, and if you can I'd try to get it up within the deadline. If really necessary, we'd probably let you post the next day, but try to get it up on time if you can.

I'm sorry you're not feeling well.

Hey, I'm going to ordering from Bricklink for my entry but it may not get here until the deadline or later (Canada Post is unpredictable in that way). If it does come one day later, may I post it then? I will post it as soon as I can and if they come before or on the deadline I will post it then.
I apologize for this, not sure why I have to keep on asking for extensions. Sorry.

Okay, that's too bad. Seeing as it will take about 2 to 2 1/2 weeks to come. :( I'll have to find another option.
