Round 4

Welcome to the semifinals of the 2016 Mini MocOlympics! I'd like to congratulate everyone who has made it this far in the games. All of you are guaranteed a podium position, but who will be number one?

All the rules are the same as always. Please read the rules thread if you need a brush-up.

If you win your MOC-off in this round, you will advance to Round 5, the final. Our tiebreaker judge will determine which of the two losers finishes third and which finishes fourth.

Here are your match-ups:

Lobo vs Justin
Pair Dare
Select two specific kinds of pieces (for example: the 1x2 brick and the jumper-plate) and then create a MOC using ONLY those two specific kinds. Feel free to use multiple colors of those bricks but they must be ONLY those two bricks. Choose wisely!

Mitchell vs Connor
Lactose Intolerant
Build a detailed MOC but there is a catch; you may not use any of these pieces:

But this one is fine:

The deadline will be on THURSDAY, September 8 at 11:59 pm server time. Good luck!

For those who have to build using only two parts, perhaps you could take some inspiration from these builds that only use one part: https://www.flickr.com/groups/lego1pu/pool/

I know I'm not supposed to do this, :P

I'm kinda rooting for Mitchell and Lobo. That will make for an interesting final round.

Yeah...a little rude as a judge to post something like that, even if it won't affect your judging.

Agreed

I didn't mean to be rude or offend anyone. Just my opinion. :/

It's fine, it's just a little discouraging to know that a judge already wants your opponent to win, but it's not that big of a deal :)

Alright.
I know that feeling. A previous contest I was in (don't remember where though) it was pretty obvious.

So just try to not let that get in the way of judging :)

Also, judges is the build supposed to be any build only without those pieces ? Or is there supposed to be another aspect to it ?

Just avoid those pieces. It can anything you want it to be. Any theme, any vehicle, any location, any idea you have. You could even take the name of the theme into consideration for the build if you want.

The deliberations in the judges group have been complete.

Round 4 will be the FINAL round. It will be a four-way deathmatch. The entries will be scored on a scale from 1-10 like Round 1. Your Round 4 scores will determine your final placings. This is because of the MocOlympics, and we don't want the two people that would have advanced to Round 5 to feel under pressure.

I'm very sorry to say it, but I will unfortunately not be able to post. I suffered a concussion in a soccer game at the very beginning of the round, and was not able to do much anything for about a week, since then I have not been able to put something together. I hope I can participate again next year though, and a big thanks to all the judges! I've really enjoyed this contest, and I was very impressed by how smoothly it was run. I thought that it was run even better than some of the more major contests on here. Again, I hate having to do this, my apologies to my opponent(s), but I've had a tough week.

Take two different pieces, put them together, and say it's a microscale thingy and post it. DO IT MAN! I want you to go out with dignity! DX

All the entries were amazing, but I don't understand why no-one made a life-size cheese, or a cup of milk on the "lactose intolerant" category, that would have been so funny...
