I'm an admin now so I can do this :D Yay.

Anyway I saw suggestions in the 'Keep MOCpages active!' group for there to be communities set up on other sites such as facebook and google+ in order to advertise further and reach out to people who might not stumble across the MOCpages otherwise or ones who have become inactive.

I've made a Google+ community: https://plus.google.com/communities/114798265357352625086

If anyone else wants to continue with this idea by proposing other sites to set up mocpages subsidiary communities then feel free.

Gilbert, I noticed you were interested in the facebook idea. If you know how to get that done then that could help.

For various reasons, I don't want to make that a personal priority. For one, it seemed like an interesting approach, but I'm not the best to lead it because I a) hardly spend any time on Facebook at all and b) even then, I have a Lego-world/real-world identity duality, so I would either have to merge my Gilbert Despathens persona with my real self or set up a second Facebook account for Lego use. The other main reason is that I feel like I could better apply my energies elsewhere.

Alas, it shall remain but an idea.

Anyway what else is on the agenda? I'm not entirely sure what is going on here at the moment. Anything I can help with?

We need to finalize our list of threads, put together some initial news articles, make a list of people to invite, determine which groups deserve special notice and staff representation, and do the HTML for the homepage. That's about it.

For the first official news article we should introduce the whole idea. We could post the same article on other sites to attract people. Just a suggestion.
