Hello, and welcome to the nations&factions thread!
Here you will learn about the different factions, and figure out which one you want to join.

Once you've decided, head over to the sign up thread once you are ready!

-Deutsches Reich (Germany)
After getting defeated in World War I, Germany was crushed. It was never expected to rise from the ashes of its defeat. But the German people were determined to prove the world wrong. In the turmoil of the 1920's and 30's, Germany became united, and rebuilt itself both militarily and financially. In 1939, Germany, now the Deutsches Reich, was ready for war against the countries that had treated the great country so unjustly. Over the process of 8 years, the Deutsches Reich has taken over all of Europe, except for the United Kingdom.
The Deutsches Reich was one of the first to develop mecha technology. Their soldiers uniform colors are white or light gray.

-The Empire of the Rising Sun
After feeling cheated out of the rewards that it deserved in World War I, the Empire of the Rising Sun readied itself for another war. The Empire of the Rising Sun allied itself with the Deutsches Reich, for both countries had similar goals and desires in mind. The Empire of the Rising Sun has conquered all of Asia as of 1946. It is now ready to conquer the United States. Their soldiers uniform colors are primarily white or red.

-Trans-European Resistance (TER)
This faction was formed after the Deutsches Reich conquered almost all of Europe. It is composed of France, Russia, Poland, Austria, and many other small European countries. The TER doesn't have a dresscode. Its whatever clothing you can get your hands on!

-United Kingdom
The United Kingdom knew that there was going to be trouble after World War I. So they instinctively prepared. They had amassed a large military when 1939 swung in, and World War II began. Despite their preparations, the United Kingdom's military was no match for the German mech army. Now in the year 1947, the United Kingdom has lost all except North Africa, Australia, and the island of Britain itself. Its soldiers primary colors are light or dark tan.

-United States
The United States suffered very little in the aftermath of World War I. It is located in both South and North America. So it was able to manage fairly well throughout the troubled years of the 1920's and 30's. The U.S. tried to stay out of World War II that had escalated, but after the Empire of the Rising Sun had destroyed much of Hawaii, it couldn't stay out of the war any longer. The U.S. is now one of the only nations which can stand up against the might of the Deutsches Reich and the Empire of the Rising Sun. It was one of the earliest developers of mecha technology. Its soldiers primary colors are olive green, and dark green.

Keep in mind though that you shouldn't judge a nation/faction by its cover. For example, not all Deutsches Reich members are cruel, not all United States members are kind.

Sweet! The U.S.A. rocks, but so does the United Kingdom... ;) just head over to the Sign Up thread, and post your character's name, Nation/Faction, and a link to your character intro in a comment in the Sign Up thread.

I had a good bit of trouble fitting red and white into my character designs, as those colors don't fit too many Lego military designs, with the obvious exception of the redcoats. I hope dark red and white arms are acceptable for the time being, I plan on flags and such in future creations.

I agree that Japan has some rather bright and unsuitable colors for a proper military look. And yes, the dark red and white arms work excellent! The flags are a great idea! : )

Is there anything nailed down about whether there was a draft in the US? If so, in what year would it have happened?

Thanks Eric! Actually, something dealing with that is currently being discussed in the staff group. We'll get back to you as soon as we have an answer.

I have one question, I'm British, but I usually collect historic soldiers, so I think I'll join the trains European resistance, because I can use my muskets as rifles, and are they kind of desperate, because a lot of my equipment would be 100 years older than it should. Would that be ok? Also, I will have a few mechs, but not too many.

Definitely! Seeing that the TER is using whatever they can get their hand's on, using old muskets are rifles would work perfectly. : )

What you can do is, right click the image (if you have a laptop/PC) click the view image option, than copy the link of the image to your homepage, or wherever you would like it, than use this HTML for getting the image on your homepage etc. Hope that helps!

P.S. the <img src= should be put BEFORE the link of the photo, and the > AFTER the link.

Thanks for letting us know James! :-) We will take your suggestion into account.
The reason why we chose tan was not because of a desert environment, but because tan was one of the primary British army uniforms.

The largest faction so far is the Deutsches Reich, but the one that needs the most help right now is the British faction. Just one member... ;)

The answer is yes!
In my July World Challenge MOC, I used some third party (airplane) decals. Same is true for stuff like Brickarms and the such.
The only pieces that are banned are really just the junky rip offs like Megabloks, Kreo, etc.
Hope my answer helps!
P.s. For the British, having tan minifigures is not a necessity. You just need to make it clear that the soldier(s) belong to the British faction. : )
