Profile bricks are the best

Yeah, profile bricks are really useful when they aren't overused. A whole wall of them can look bad, but mixing them in with other texture or having 1-2 layer(s) at the bottom of a building can look good.

Woo! Yeah! Profile bricks forever! No offense, but I'm pretty sure this group is gonna go inactive very quickly.

Agreed. Just like the "Olive Cheese!" group :P

Really? I guess they are also called "masonry bricks"

Yeah, I thought it was only Brick who called them that. Calling them profile bricks doesn't make sense - the official name is "Brick, modified 1x2 with masonry profile", but the masonry bit is the important part - profile doesn't describe the texture whatsoever

No, profile just describes the fact the pattern is on the side. I've also heard people call them 'Brick bricks'

10 comments in this group? That's nine more than I was expecting. But heck, keep it up, let's have an active group!

So would you like the name of this group to be changed? :P Yeah your right, it doesn't work as well. Profile brick could also refer to the old ones with just the straight horizontal and vertical grooves in them.

That could be confusing, yeah. Those bricks are already confusing in my opinion, as some people call them 'texture bricks'. That really wasn't helpful when I started here.

Yeah, that's the normal and most accurate name.

I, personally, think the name is just fine. But go ahead! Though this group won't be active for very long, I think.

I'll be honest-the reason I named this group "Profile Bricks" is thats how I found them on a long Bricklink order.
| August 29, 2014, 6:08 pm
Yep. Bricklink calls them both 'Masonry' & 'Profile'. And I vote to keep it 'Profile Bricks!' (exclamation fully intended!).

Howdy. Thanks a million for the invite, but I think due to time, I don't think I would be much help and/or a participant to this group. But again, thanks a million for the invite. I really appreciate it. Hope you understand. :-)

Is it just me or is buying bricks from Bricklink pretty much the most satisfying thing in the whole world?

At least the most practical!

It's so much cheaper then PaB! Sometimes. There was this one time I found a 1x8 brown tile for $8.00!

When there's a weird price like that it's probably a mistake, they probably meant 8 cents.

I've actually never used bricklink, I just get PaB cups from my local Lego store (about twice a year)

See I tried that, but 1) the closest lego store is 2 hours away, and they barely had any variety.

They don't have a huge variety of pieces but there's always something good there - I've gotten water pieces, grass, dark green 1x1 bricks, brown and tan plates, dark tan, red, and black tiles, light bley 1x1 round tiles...

Yeah, all the ones at mine are 2x4 bricks, and I have PLENTY of those.

Yes, PaB is the place to get the basic Bricks, while Bricklink is for more rare bricks and 'figs.
I would advise never buying sets off of Bricklink though (unless their 'figless...).

I just made a much larger version or our namesake, the profile brick. Check it out here! http://mocpages.com/moc.php/399440

Sweet! I'll see how it looks as the official background.

I can edit it too, so that the wrinkles in the background won't be there, and if you don't like the little brick I can remove that too.

don't bother. It looks great as it is. Thanks so much!

New York? Yeah. I bet there will be one there sometime soon, can't help you with the details though...
