Happy Christmas to all! (It's still Christmas Eve here in the UK as I write but I probably won't get on tomorrow.) So to all I wish you a fun-filled festive period and I hope you get all the Lego and joy you could ever wish for.

So I was about to upload a new episode but apparently the uploader is broken :|

And because MP is so outdated I can't embed from flickr or anything so I guess it will have to wait.

I'll give the browser thing a shot when I get home, that might be the issue. When I click add photos that little window just doesn't load any content. So I can't choose simple uploaded or anything like that.

Hope everyone's had a fantastic Christmas! Wish you all the best for the new year (hopefully it'll be a little more active then this one unfortunately was).

Great! We drove up to Pennsylvania to surprise my sister, and then drove back Christmas Eve. I got some much-needed BrickWarriors for The Insurgency, so I can start building now.

You?

I had a great Christmas! I didn't get any Lego but I used some of the money I got to buy a couple sets yesterday. I got the Sunshine Surfer Van which I've been wanting for a while.

How about you?

Sweet! I spent mine with my family and their new puppy which was nice. As for Lego, I got Yoda's Hut, the Stigmoloch breakout set and the Baby Raptor playpen poly bag.

Cool gifts! I've been thinking about getting Yoda's hut because it looks cool but it's hard for me to justify $30 on such a small set.

I hardly ever buy anything direct from Lego. I nearly always buy from Amazon as it's always much cheaper. I've seen Yoda's Hut for around about £16 on there before.

Same. Haven't really bought much Lego on my own recently, though x[

We're renovating my Lego area right now, so I have a ton of organizing to do. So no episodes for a while...

That makes a lot of sense. I usually check eBay since most of the stuff I'm interested in getting is older anyway (still trying to get a few LOTR/Hobbit sets). The current themes don't interest me too much with the exception of CMFs which seem to be on a decline as well

--Blast--
Happy New Year to you as well mate! As for resolutions, well...

1. Do more exercise
2. Learn the bare bones basics of the 12 principles of animation
3. Focus more on the Insurgency and my story (as I did practically nothing this year)...

And that's about it! :D What about yourself?

Mine are;

1.) Spend less time at work (I frequently do 14 hour days)

2.) Save more money. (I have a wedding to be saving for now! Haha!)

Very nice! Yep, can tell from experience (not my own, but a few friends) that weddings aren't cheap. Worth it though :)

Also, 14 hour days? Yikes! That seems like a brutal workload mate.

Tell me about it!

Yeah, I really enjoy my job but I do have a lot to do! I've started setting myself a 10 hour limit. So after I've been there for 10 hours, I force myself to stop whatever I'm doing and go home. Haha!

As a side note, this is why it takes me so long to make an episode now! Because I'm never at home!

I can tell you from experience that weddings are not cheap at All! I just had mine this past year and we did a very small one, comparatively. I'd guess it cost around 2-3 thousand dollars, and the venue and tables were free. Thankfully we had family to help with everything but a lot of it was out of pocket.

Happy Anniversary to The Insurgency!

Today marks the 5th anniversary of the creation of this glorious game!

Special shout-out to Thomas of Tortuga, George Marshall and Caleb R for creating the System that we now call home.

Special thanks to our Mods, both past and present, Werewolff and Ben Olson.

Thanks also to Iris, for your support and assistance over the years, as always.

But mostly, to all players both active and departed, thank you for your participation over the past half a decade! The only reason we're still going strong is because of you. Keep the stories coming - we love 'em!

Here's to rounding it up to a full decade! Bring on the next 5!

SPOILERS FOR KENBO'S LATEST EPISODE:

So! Now that the cause of the Shift has finally been revealed, what do you all think? And not only that, but the prospect of returning!
--Blast--
Permalink

I feel most people would share Percy's thought that there's nothing to return to. People have established lives in the new system with new jobs and relationships but I'm sure arguments could be made like maybe escaping war or some just have a dislike of the system. The cause is still a secret in universe with only a few people knowing but once the public becomes aware I think there would be some sort of vote (something I've got ideas for in the next season)
| January 10, 2019, 9:50 am
I think it would be messier to return to the og solar system than it would be to stay in the system we're currently in. So of course I support the return because it's a catalyst for conflict and tragedy.

So, a few points to clarify;

1.) We're not planning on moving Earth back to the Milky Way, don't worry. This was just to show everybody that the Milky Way is still out there and that it is possible to get to it.

2.) Remember that in-game, the cause of the shift is still very much a secret that virtually nobody knows.

3.) Remember that the bulk of the GI forces were stranded in the Milky Way when the Shift occurred, so we don't know what's happened to them in the meantime - HOWEVER, now that we've shown it's possible to get there, please don't show your character randomly falling into a black hole and appearing there. So, you are NOT allowed to go to the Milky Way unless you have a really cool idea, in which case, run your idea past me in a chat first.

Kinda figured those forces would've died off but I guess they could've found ways to sustain themselves. Would make for some interesting storylines especially with them seeing the things that came from the black hole. It's possible not everyone got off the Orbital and other ships from the Rerador battle got taken too

I've actually had an idea regarding those stranded forces for awhile. My third season may flesh it out (if I ever get to it, that is!) but I welcome other people's ideas on it all as well!
