Am I allowed to create a topic? Or is that only for the administrators? I'm mostly curious, but I do have an idea for a topic.

No, you cannot. But if you have an idea for a thread you can probably just suggest them.

Yeah, as has been said, we generally restrict creation of topics to staff members (so, at the moment, just RK and I), but, of course, feel free to suggest your idea, if it sounds good we'll happily allow you to make it.

It may also be worth checking back in the conversations to see if a similar thread to yours already exists.

Thanks for answering. If there isn't one already, I'd like to start a topic on modifying minifigures. I don't do it really, but I was wondering if anybody else had any tips or such.

Not sure it needs a thread of its own, but feel free to chat away about it in the general Convo threads!

Are you required to add dates to the beginning of your posts? I'd rather not if I don't have to clarify it's not in the present. :P Or if somebody could help me out that'd be nice.

I'm pretty sure they're optional, but I like using them as it helps to establish a solid continuity between the many different stories.

It's not a requirement, but GC entries MUST be set in the current month and adding dates to episodes helps to establish where your characters are at and when etc, as others have already said. It just helps with overall continuity between everybody's stories. And there's nothing stopping you from having flashbacks either, but you cannot set an episode in the future.

Well, it's a month from System 54 to 55, then another 4 or 5 days to Husk (assuming you traveled to Deltar 5.)

I did some digging...NASA's new horizon probe does 38,000 miles per hour and obviously tech in 2097 is better, so (insert large number here) miles per hour for a month straight.

Well, the closest system from the Solar System is 4.37 light years away. If we assume that System 55 is closer at, say, 2 lightyears away, and you're travelling in a fighter, you would be going 1.224x10^10miles per hour. Light travels at 670600000 miles per hour, so the warp drive makes the ship 18.2 times faster than the speed of light.

Considering the Enterprise had the ability to go 140 times the speed of light ( and Star Wars hyperspace is about 2,000 lightyears an hour!) I'd like to think it's a pretty good assumption. Hope this helps!

Alright. I am trying to find information on The Fire Pits of Rerador. I'm assuming that it's a region with a lot of volcanic activity but as far as I know the only time I know of it being used before is in IAD'S insurgency season 2 #3: Out of the frying pan. Is there any other times it has been used?a or perhaps more info about it that I might have overlooked?

Good thought, but unfortunately not. The warp drive needed to power a cruiser would be much bigger than the one I assume you'd be using on your own ship!

That's what I thought. I assume that I'd have to buy a new warp drive for the cruiser then? If that's the case I think I'll save the engineer league for after I save up enough to buy a cruiser.

Hmm. It's an interesting point. My initial response is that if you're getting a brand new cruiser, I imagine that they are all built with warp capabilities these days, so you wouldn't need a separate one. But I'll speak with Iad' and see what he thinks too.

I'd always imagined The Fire Pits being an area that was somewhat ironically named. It's actually relatively low in volcanic activity compared to the rest of Rerador, but is named so ominously due to the incredibly high levels of crime and stuff there. But of course that's just what I'd imagined, feel free to change it if you'd like. [IAD]

Thanks! I actually was thinking about having it be an ironic name but I didn't want to mess up any of the plans you had for the Fire Pits. I guess my depiction of it being like a space age Gotham city with no batman is pretty close. :P

Like do we have the recent species directory, Leader boards, and Timeline saved somewhere? The Games were in place during the Collective War. As the war is now over, it is forbidden for The Games Masters to take people from System 54/55 to participate. We did like the games, and who knows, maybe they'll one day make a return, but for now, they're over.

Honestly, it depends how you want to portray them. In my mind they were basically human, simply controlled and grown by The Collective. No powers, they can just carry guns and are born well-trained. But others have shown them able to fly, or shoot lasers from their arms, so it isn't exactly completely binary. [IAD]

1. So I guess I have to start at the citizen rank since I have no points. So that means my character can't be shown as part of the Imperium quite yet right? I was thinking about creating some sort of war hero type character but that won't be possible will it?
2. Are there any established agencies/divisions within the GI (I.e. similar to FBI, CIA, EPA, etc.)? And would I be allowed to show new ones if they're not already existing?
3. Does Earth still have libraries and books? I feel like they would've become obsolete a while ago but still...

1. It's possible that you don't have to start off as a citizen in the story, Ranks don't directly correspond to your rank in the game.
2. I'm not sure.
3. I don't see why there shouldn't be.

Hey! Good to hear you're trying to catch up! Haha!
1.) You could already be in the Imperium, but you'd start as a Cadet. OR, a retired member / war hero would be fine as you are technically just a civilian.
2.) Um, I'm sure there are but the only one I can think of off the top of my head are the Wasps, who are the winged division. Anybody else out there think of any others?
If you want to make your own, that is perfectly fine too! That's the beauty of The Insurgency!
3.) Yes, I reckon it does. Primary resources will be digital, but books and paper are still in use.

In reference to your second question, I created the Galactic Marshals service a few months ago. They operate in a similar role to FBI and U.S marshals. More info in my TI Mocs, feel free to use them

2.) There was the Core, but that was disbanded. Plus it was already active before the G.I. Perhaps others could have also been moved into the G.I? (FBI, CIA, etc...)

Greetings mate, welcome to the Insurgency :D. In regards to part of your question, the Core, as Marley stated, was the CIA of the GI, but were disbanded during the Collective War. However, some agents still work with the military, while others are freelancers, mercanarys, bounty hunters and others have simply retired. The Imperial Marshals are a good call, as are the Wasps, the Knightborn Shock Troopers or, as R.K. Said, you can make one up :D I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Oh also I don't think I really get the travel time stuff... So if it takes like a day to travel to a planet, do you have to wait at least a day to post a build of the planet you are traveling to? I feel like I've seen multiple planets in some of the stories but maybe that's due to something else...

And is a warp drive necessary? Could my character have his own ship and travel without it? (Although maybe I will see the use in the warp drive after understanding travel time...)

Most of us include the planet to planet travel time by including dates in our stories. (Character leaves qoter on June 1, 2 days travel time, next episode takes place June 4) Warp drives aren't necessary to travel but they cut travel time in half which is nice if your character travels a lot.

Yeah, as Garrett has already said, if you include dates in your episodes, it makes everything easier. It also helps with continuity between everybody's stories.
And again, as for a warp drive, you don't NEED one, but if you get one you can travel to system 55 and all other travel times are halved.

Since Etrion is Qoter's moon it's about the same travel time. So unless the ship is just barely able to fly it should take around 4 days.

Yes! The Followers of the Universe (FotU)! They appeared in the wake of the Shift and are heavily against The Collective, although normally peaceful.
As for stories, Iad' and I have a big FotU based story-line coming later in the year for you all! (That's not to say you can't use them before then though!)
Most members of the FotU are Hasats, but not all.

I don't think it's really been covered before. There are larger settlements (although not many) around the equator of the two halves, but apart from that, it's not been shown, so feel free to make the decision!

The actual reason behind it is actually a spoiler within my story. All I'll say was that Uek was a rather aggressive leader and Adam shut down the Core after their first mission in the Collective War. But next to no one knows that Adam was behind it, as he's considered dead. Most of those that knew about the Core's existence believe that Uek simply upset the GI Council.

Whey! Good to see you again Griffin! We've been missing Derek!
As for a chain of command, for politics, it would be something like this;
.GI Council
.Planetary Governors
.Regional Commanders
.Armed forces/police

But then of course, you have the armed forces themselves and the various ranks in each division and those will fit inbetween the above ranks. For example, the Grand Admiral (who oversees the entire Imperial navy) would fit in at about the same level as the Planetary Governors. Then the Admirals (who are in charge of small groups of ships) would be below them and so on.

As for secret police, I'm sure there are plenty of groups that would fit the bill, but if there isn't one you specifically like, feel free to create one!

Yes. Be related to the current one. The Archmage is effectively the monarch (King/Queen) of The Collective, and is often one of the most powerful Mages alive.

The current Archmage is Eris Arathon, who became Archmage after killing her dictator brother, Azgoth. The heir to the throne is her younger brother, Estern Arathon.

Well, General Corvin upped sticks and moved True Aurelia to Flouron in System 55. It's not really been covered since then, but we've seen General Convo back on Zarus, so it's up to you as to where the bulk of the reunited Aurellians are.
As for the GI, various agreements were made with the government in System 55. So the GI has a presence in the system, but are not in charge.
Other than that, again, it's not really been covered yet, so it's up to the players!

What exactly does Ossilium do again?

Ossillium is an element found on Rearador that prohibits the Collective from using their powers. However, it also had the side affect of creating a wide-spread Ossillium sickness, though the Imperium eventually devolved a cure. In current events, Ossillium is being raided and hoarded by Commander Uek Ferris, also know as the Storm for a secretive project very few know about, in the hopes to re-engineer the virus once again.

--Blast--

That's what I figured. One last thing though. What kinda government does Deltar 5 have exactly? Does it have a name does it have a council or presidents and governors to each planet? Or has no one explored it yet since all the attention seems to be pointed to the system with earth in it even though Earth is kinda boring compared to places in system 55.

I don't think it's actually been covered yet. As you say, most people are focused on System 54 (even though I agree with you that the planets in System 55 are far more interesting! ((Hence, we created them!))) But I had always imagined Deltar 5 to be very peaceful and fair. Like Alderaan in Star Wars. It has a government, ruled over by a Prime Minister who is elected every 4 years. Every Prime Minister is only allowed to be in office for 2 terms.
But officially, nothing has been covered.

Awesome! That's what I was hoping. One last question. Is there a dominant species on Deltar 5 or is it like the rest of the systems and has humans and other races. I'm mainly asking since I've been planning some major activity for my series taking place in system 55 and didn't want there to already be stuff out there about it before I made up stuff... :P

There isn't yet, but, again, I've always imagined it to be a strong, trust-worthy female. Along the lines of Mon Mothma from Star Wars.

Okay... I am a little confused about the warp drives. Do you or do you not have to buy one if you go through the engineer league? I was under the impression that you could pay for one and skip the first two parts of the engineer league or make those parts and avoid payment. (which did seem to good to be true but I guess I could see why people would want to skip those.) I'm not complaining or anything but I just want to make sure if I need to buy one or not...

I am working on moving my characters over to system 55 and have a big storyline involving the government of Deltar 5 and other political stuff and really wanted to start it this month after I got my characters to system 55. However i realized that I'd use my two league builds getting there and my ideas matched the first build for the diplomacy league. So is there by chance a way I could pay coins or something and do an extra league build or just not get points for it or something?

I thought that just let you start a new league while in another. (Example being getting started in say the pilots league and then starting the Space engineer League.) I have to get to Deltar 5 anyway to start the idea I have (spoilers) So I would end up going through the rest of the Space engineer League anyway...

The main HQ was in London, as it was were Adam Ferris was situated. However, there were seven Core branches around the world, though I won't reveal their locations yet because of possible spoilers. However, all of them have now been shut down and either destroyed or converted into storage warehouses or other utilities.

I don't think there was. People covered the prototype (D3, I think it was called?) which was then turned into a weapon as it was unreliable. But I don't recall anybody actually showing the cure. It was all stated in the GC's at the time, but nobody actually took it up, as far as I can remember.

Hey Griffin, sorry about the long reply, life's been hectic recently.
Basically, as the Claws of Etrion grew in power, The Council became threatened, thinking that the Claws intended to muscle in on their territory and take their business. This all came to a head when a small Collective force, lead by Jay Arathon and the Vindicators, invaded Etrion, seeking to bring both the Claws and the Council to justice. Thus, a three way war began, with the Claws and the Council finally coming to blows with one another.

Alright I'm working on the finishing touches of my GC entry now. And plan to post my bounty hunt entry today or tomorrow. But I realized that the points from said hunt would put me over the 250 mark. And I have a big episode planned for that rank up and it probably won't get finished until after the first. Could I possibly post the GC entry the same time I post my bounty hunt before I get the points for said hunt and go into the "your next creation must be a rank up" area? By that I mean two separate episodes of course just posted at the same time because it's highly unlikely that I'll have time to get the rank up build up before the GC ends.

As Marley said using a generic Qoterian gang that defected to Aurelia in 2094 should work. There were also over governmental bodies in a power struggle on Qoter before the GI took over, so maybe utilizing them could be beneficial.

Hey man, by the way. What exactly happened to Etrion. I now it's all apocalyptic now. It's so fun to build about it!

It was once an independent nation, but after a devastating civil war, the population vanished and nomadic raiders moved through. Quite a lot of the System use Etrion as a dumping ground for prisoners, and heaps of gangs work within the abandon cities and sandy terrain. Currently the Claws of Etrion are fighting against both the Vindicators and the Maurader Council for some semblance of control over the moon. Read Issac AD's story for more details on that.

Yeah I was wondering about the governors... Then who's the one for Earth? I feel like I saw it in someone's story but don't really remember...

Tirunei is a gas giant. It has no solid land mass and is therefore uninhabited.

It's Councillor Worthington. Sorrin Worthington is one of the 5 secretive council members that head the GI. He's the only one that is known by name. He was President at the start of the GI, but then the Council took over. Worthington vanished into thin air until he appeared in a video announcement and in that said that he was one of the council. He now is the spokesperson for the GI.

EDIT: Just a reminder to all; nobody is allowed to show him in person. Videos/messages are fine, but not in person.

EDIT: I think the only 2 Governors we know of are Governor Boan of Qoter (in my series) and we've seen the Governor of Soateria here, but he isn't named. http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/418514

It was a town on Earth and it was in May, but yes it is still going. The town has been cordoned off by the military, while scientists try to work out what's going on.

I thought about a possible future storyline but I'm not sure if it would be too extreme... So I was thinking that maybe Tirunei has a solid core that's been hollowed out and there's "stuff" inside... It's probably not super scientifically sound but I think I read there can be hollow planets (not necessarily gas giants) with no gravity at the center. Unless it's not a matter of scientific accuracy but rather we just shouldn't use Tirunei...

Well unless the planet is exploding you would need something to hold it togerther.

A gravity-generator of some kind?

Something needs to hold it together, and gas planets are fully developed as rocky ones.

Or is this planet only forming now? Have I missed something? I was away for a while.

I don't know too much about this type of stuff but I think if a rocky planet was hollow, it would be more likely to break apart than a gas planet. Tirunei's description is gas giant so I'd say it's pretty much like Jupiter which in theory has a solid metal core. Maybe in 2097 someone has the technology to hollow it out and get rid of molten material

Yes but you need to replace it with something. :P like a gravity generator. Or a mini, controlled black hole. That would be cool.

Though current scientific theories suggest that gas giants would have a "solid" core, they also say it would mostly be covered by liquid.

Also, Jupiter's Core is estimated to be around 24,000 degrees Celsius (hotter than the surface of the sun).

In addition, the pressure at the Earth's Core is 360 gigapascals, which is about 1600 times the pressure required to flatten a pure titanium cube 2 metres thick (https://www.reddit.com/r/theydidthemath/comments/2nlwf9/request_how_much_force_would_be_necessary_to/). Jupiter's even heavier than the Earth, so it's pressure would be even greater, and Tirunei's could be even bigger (depending on it's size)

Honestly, whatever minerals could be extracted wouldn't be worth the amount of metal that would need to be sent down through the atmospheric layer. Unless the planet has always been built around a man/alien-made structure, I feel it'd be too much effort.

Phew, sorry fr the scientific overload! Hope this helps though!

Considering a black hole as wide as a coin is a billion billion times as massive as the Earth, it would probably completely destroy the gas giant and change the orbits in System 54 dramatically.

I don't think anyone would be game enough to try controlling a black hole like that!

I know, but it just sprung to me in a moment of stuff.

What about a nickel sized black hole? Normally they would die, it through a power (like the force) they could be allowed to survive!

However, black holes don't have as large of an effect rate as people think, so it wouldn't work..

Just a fun idea! A gravity bomb would be very cool...

Oh, and BTW I'm aware of all the black hole stuff, I'm an aspiring astrophysicist. :p

Nice! A gravity generator or something similar wouldn't be a bad idea at all. After all, they exist already in the Insurgency, otherwise everyone would be floating around in their spaceships or cruisers.

Perhaps if there was a way to counter Hawking radiation and stop a minuscule (an extremely light) black hole from evaporating, it could work.? But yeah, as you'd know, black holes are waaay to confusing to use goodly.

Blast, would it be alright if I showed governor Boan in an episode? I may be asking a little prematurely because there will be several episodes before the one I'm thinking he could fit in but I've started writing it regardless... His role would be small, just a scene with him in his office talking to my characters.

It isn't actually a legal necessity. Deja and the Faith are treated similarly to how Christianity is in the United States, a lot of things are done in Deja's name, and there are people that believe in him, but large portions of Collective society only really see him as a symbolic thing now. [IAD]
