Rainos' most distinctive feature is its endless diversity: every player can and is encouraged to make up one or more tribes, clans, fiefdoms, towns or other communities with their unique identities for their own personal use and/or the enrichment of our culture as a faction. Currently, the most-recent (and best-illustrated) list of these groups can be found ln the homepage of this group, but use this thread to propose new groups and discuss existing ones.

Can we make clans here? If so, I'd like to make one...

Yes, you may.

Commoner clan: People are accepted into this clan no matter what their background. They have complicated ties with the bull clan and the stealth clan.

Anyone can make unlimited new clans! The only rules are not to claim anything someone else controls for your clan. Clans are NOT the same as guilds, and they will only be limited if too many clans resemble each other too closely. Keep track of the existing clans here!

Known Clans:

Dragon Clan- Largest clan in Rainos. Kingdoms series Dragon Knights. Dark Green and black with dark pearl or black armor. Use gold, bronze, yellow, and light green as secondary colors. Relatively civilized with a significant number of elves.

Bull Clan- KK1 villains. Use black, plain red, brown, and old dark-stone-grey garments, often with dragon-styled helmets. Black or brown hair, Norse culture.

Stealth Clan- Mysterious clan of masked assassins. Sworn enemies of the Bull Clan. Some rumors say that they have moved their operations to Enalica.

Boar Clan- Collectable "Evil Knight" minifigures in black armor with spiked silver rivets and KKII Shadow Knight helmets. Occasionally ride giant boars into battle.

Iber Clan- Troll torsos with yellow skin. Often carry spears. Black, brown, or dirty-blond hair. Gold or shiny silver armor. Think slightly Spanish.

Orc Clans- Any monstrous or inhuman minifigures from fantasy-line Trolls to LOTR orcs to sci-if/Star Wars aliens.

Romanu Clan- Roman-styled army based from the ruins of a former city. Surprisingly, they dress like Romans. This may well be one of the most self-confident clans in Rainos.

Commoner clan: People are accepted into this clan no matter what their background. They have complicated ties with the bull clan and the stealth clan.

Please update this, thanks.

Adam or Night Reaper, could either of you make up an explanation about why there are at least three different dragon uniforms: Adam's classic ones, the Kingdoms green ones and the new red ones? I'm trying to differentiate between them for my UC story, but I don't want to write something and have it turn out wrong. Thanks.

Wow. That is a tough question. Well, each color represents a style of dragon. My classic ones wear red and blue, as that was the color of the first dragon. The he green dragons represent the dragons that originated from the southern enalican islands. The New red ones represent the most common dragons, usually black, as seen in my Firey surprise MOC, and Jacob penningtons R2 tourney MOC.

If none of that made sense, sorry, you caught me a little of guard.

Clans and guilds are separate - one is exclusive to Rainos, and functions more as a way to add depth and background to the world than anything else. They can contain multiple players, but any Rainosian can make up an indefinite number of clans. Does that help?

It is possible. A clan is a group of people with similarities. A guild is a group of people who share the same beliefs.

I'm announcing a new contest for the faction - Make a blue clan.

We pride ourselves on having no dress code, yet we are invariably identified by outsiders as red. Mythron, on the other hand, sometimes draws people solely because they like or have come into blue minifigure parts. For this reason, I offer a village mayorship to the Rainosian who comes up with the best clan, tribe or fighting force of Rainos that incorporates the color blue, preferably in easy-to-find pieces, into its standard attire. Give us a group or type of minifigures that are both blue-clad and Rainosian, put a description of their way of life on them, and you may have both the control of the village of your making AND chieftainship of the newest tribal superpower. This freebuild contest will run until the end of March, is open to the people of Rainos and their allies and will be judged by a panel of friendly/neutral non-participants. Here is an excellent opportunity to strengthen both yourself and our faction - for the glory of Rainos!

New clan: Wajihod (pronounced Wa-zi-hode)

A clan of fierce warriors; they paint their faces red and white when I going to battle, though some keep the paint on all the time. They always wear a hood, and rumor says that they do this to cover their bald heads. They prefer heavy weapons, such as an axe. Very rarely are they archers, as their arm isn't steady. These clansmen are always ready for a fight, and tend to start then without much of a cause.

Not the Ibers? *Shocked Face* I guess this makes more sense, though, since you already used green dragons for Nerogue. As it happens, the greenies don't have a leader, so there's a vacancy for you to fill right there. Anyway, what I understand from the boot camp and what Asad told me once upon a time is...

Neutral/Enemies:
Ibers, Bulls

Yeah, even nowadays I buy sets more for parts rather than theme or minifigures, so I don't buy a whole lot of castle sets because their parts aren't all that appealing. Lone Ranger, on the other hand....

This is kind of off-topic, but I realized that I have EXACTLY enough KKI Lion Knight figures to make up a chess team! I even have them in more or less the right numbers to do it, too.
Nine of these guys (pawns and one knight):
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=cas037
Three King Leos (king and bishops):
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=cas035
Two of these guys (rooks):
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=cas247
And one each of the queen (queen) and princess (other knight):
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=cas033
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?M=cas034

I'll have to start using them more often. I would have turned them into a full-blown clan, but some of the basic knights' torso and leg printing is kind of worn out.

It's kinda hard to see, but the cities (Guaire, Grorm, Hadran, and Iremore) can be seen on the main map: https://www.flickr.com/photos/101364785@N07/11316842814/sizes/l/

Colors are rather varied, but brown is worn by most of the members, and therefore, for the time being at least, is the main color. This clan, while still loyal to Rainos, and the King of said country, is about as close to outlaw as you can get. They look out for number one just about all the time, and are made up mostly of warriors, but my character is going to try and institute a little more settling down-stuff among them. Anyway, there you are. Anyone?

You mean real people? That would be a guild. A clan is just something for you and your story, that others can use in their stories. You don't invite others.

Uh...probably not. The deer clan is a pretty small clan, so it's not one of the less personal clans like some of the others.

The Deer Clan is a clan led by Elisa's father (who I haven't actually named yet). Most of the clan lives in giant treehouses in Deer Forest (which is near Hadran), and they're known for their great hunting skills.
