I would assume most of you know about the new Zelda game coming for 3DS but maybe you don't. It is supposed to be a sequel to A Link to the Past and it looks like it will be cool.

Here is a link to the trailer that was shown at E3:

Awesome! It'd be epic if the game came out on the same day then in 60 years when you are introducing your Grand-kids to the Zelda series (you know you will =P) you can say 'This is a very special game to me, it's birthday is the same as mine!'

LOL.

So, what do you think about the game itself? I personally think it will be really awesome. The ability to turn Link into a drawing will be a point of controversy but I think it will make the game very interesting. I'm hoping for a demo in the 3DS eShop soon.

I think the 3D is so that you can see multiple levels of the dungeons. I think it will be cool! What do you think of Link being able to become a drawing?

I think it will be interesting. As long as it is implemented well I think it has a chance! What about a Multiplayer option. They had one in PH and ST so why not this one? And with the 3DS's better hard and software, there is a LOT of Multiplayer potential.

So now we have the timeline set 100 years after the original ALTTP and we know that the Magic Meter will also control all items. i.e. we won't have to/be able to hunt down bombs, arrows and bigger bags and quivers. The magic meter controls all ammo and the ability to become a drawing.

I think this will be interesting so that in those tough boss fights where arrows are useful and scarce we can just wait for the Magic Meter to recharge rather than find five arrows and miss half of them.

What do you guys think?

That would be nice. Reminds me of a certain tentacled monster from Skyward Sword. If you run out of arrows in that fight, your toast.

I haven't played Skyward Sword yet. I want to though!

I do think this will be a nice touch...maybe we will find more Rupees in the grass!

I haven't played Skyward Sword yet but I agree with you on the new 'turn-yourself-into-a-drawing ability'. It could be very interesting if implemented correctly.

BTW haven't seen you around yet; welcome to the group!

It's strange that you can buy these types of weapons/equipment. I wonder if this means that you won't get new items in dungeons :( nothing has ever been more disappointing than opening that chest and getting a key or map instead of the dungeon's item :

So it seems that, judging by this picture: http://www.zeldadungeon.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/zelda_link_between_worlds.jpg

Our items for A Link Between Worlds will be: Bow, Hammer, Boomerang, Hookshot, some sort of Red Wand, Bombs, Whirlwind maybe?, a Book, and a Blue wand. I wonder particularly about the Book and the Wands and also what appears to be the whirlwind but we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm really hoping it's a propeller so that we can hover without Cuccos but again, we'll have to wait and see.

They do look really cool! I used to have the ALttP/Four Swords Gameboy Advance cartridge but I unfortunately misplaced it.

I finished it! Quite an awesome game! The buying of items was implemented far better than I thought it would be: it gave purpose to finding Rupees everywhere! The ability to turn into a Drawing made the game very fun and challenging in some places. Unfortunately, the bosses were too easy and instead of having a weak point like in most other games, you just kinda hack at them with the sword. Being able to level up the Master Sword was a great idea! Kudos to whoever thought of that.

*SPOILERS AHEAD!!*

Just giving you fair warning :)

The Story was great. It follows the format of most Zelda games, finding a three items, then going and finding six (or in this case seven) more. Link starts off as a Blacksmith's apprentice (a lazy one, as always =P) with the Blacksmith's son waking him. Link goes to the blacksmith shop where the captain of the Guard is waiting for a sword. He leaves to go to the Sanctuary, to visit the Priest's Daughter. Link is tasked with taking the sword to the Captain so he rushes to Hyrule Castle, hoping to find him. He then learns that the Captain went to the Sanctuary. So Link goes on where he meets Yuga. Oh no! Yuga has turned the Priest's Daughter into a painting and makes off with her.

Link awakens in his home with a strange guy dressed as a purple rabbit! The rabbit guy (named Ravio) asks to stay in Link's house for a while to which Link agrees and receives a bracelet as thanks.

Link then travels to Hyrule Castle where he gets an audience with Princess Zelda who gives him the Pendant of Wisdom and tells Link to visit Sahasrahla, the elder of Kakariko village. Sahasrahla tells Link to go find Osfala in the Eastern Palace.

Link goes to the Eastern Palace but cannot enter so he goes back to his house where Ravio gives him a bow. Link uses the bow to solve a puzzle and enter the Dungeon where he finds Osfala who decides to rush in and fight with Yuga. Upon completion of the dungeon, Link finds Yuga just in time to see Osfala turned into a painting. Link battles Yuga and fails, being transformed into a painting on the wall. Fortunately, Ravio's Bracelet lets you emerge from the wall unscathed.

After escaping the dungeon, you meet Sahasrahla who leads you to Hyrule Castle where you see it has been shrouded in darkness. He tells you to find the other two Pendants so that you will be able to draw the Master Sword from its Pedestal.

Link finds the Pendants, Draws the Master Sword and returns to battle Yuga once again. Upon entering the Castle, Link sees that Yuga has captured Princess Zelda and transformed her into a painting! Along with other the other Sages! Link and Yuga fight and Yuga is beaten (though he won't admit it) and runs. Link follows him through a crack in the wall which leads him to Lorule.

Once in Lorule, Link meets Princess Hilda, the troubled Princess of Lorule. She tells Link that he must Rescue the Seven Sages who have been trapped in different locations around Lorule.

Link completes all the temples and rescues all the Sages. They combine their power and grant him the Triforce of Courage. Link returns to Lorule Castle and speaks with Princess Hilda who, as it turns out, was in league with Yuga all along, trying to steal Hyrule's Triforce to restore Lorule to glory! She summons Yuga, who has been combined with Ganon, and Link does battle with the beast. The battle goes on for a long time until Yuga-Ganon is defeated and Link saves Zelda from painting form.

Hilda prepares to vanquish Link herself when in comes Ravio! As it turns out, Ravio is Lorule's version of Link. Ravio manages to talk Hilda out of destroying Hyrule by stealing its Triforce and she agrees and sends Link and Zelda home, using the last bit of power from Ravio's Bracelet.

Link and Zelda then use the Triforce to make a wish; to return Lorule to Glory. Which then happens, to Hilda and Ravio's surprise.

So that's the story and I thought it was a very good one. Again the Bosses were a bit too easy but the last battle was actually a bit challenging. I would say this was probably the best top-down perspective Zelda game to date.

Unfortunately the 3D wasn't implemented very well. It gave a sense of height to the game and some things actually popped out of the screen but other than that, the 3D seemed like a waste. Anyway those are my thoughts on the game and I would definitely recommend it. If you don't own it, buy it!
