This morning at around 10:00 A.M., Layuga County 911 was flooded with calls regarding heavy smoke showing from a structure on Old Layuga Road. So Kentlego Box 46-23 was struck sending Co's. 46 and 18 to a very familiar address. The address was Station 46. Chief 46 arrived first and confirmed a 10-57 and requested to "fill" the Box,bringing more units from 18's and a Quint from 12's. Immediately after his transmission Forced entry into the bays, and began moving the rigs. As more members showed up all rigs were out on the front ramp and into operation. A 2 1/2 line was stretched into the Station and was put to good use. Inside crews discovered a large fire in their meeting room/banquet hall. Quint 12 arrived and threw the stick to the roof and immediate ventilation of the structure. 18's Water Supply arrived and hooked up the to the nearest plug and supplied the Kentlego Engines and 12's Quint. A 1 3/4 line was stretched into the building and assisted 461 with fire suppression. 20 minutes later all visible fire was extinguished and Tower 46's crew searched for any remaining fire with a T.I.C. And found nothing. Due to serious heat exhaustion to FF's, Layuga County Rescue Squad was called in to assist with the "mop-up" Lego-Ravia Rescue 14 was also on scene as the R.I.T. Team. The bays were saved as well as the kitchen and bunk rooms and all upstairs rooms. Also the brass pole was saved as inside crews kept the fire away from that area. Unfortunately the two story banquet hall/meeting room was destroyed and declared a total loss. Damage was estimated at $100,000. At around 3:00 P.M. Today the remaining walls in that area was torn down and hauled away. Due to the collapse of the roof over the "fire" room, the structure was declared temporarily inhabitable. So all rigs, crews and equipment were moved to the old fire house, 2 blocks away. Thanks to the efforts of quick thinking members, all extra equipment and all the turn outs stored in the station were saved and placed in the museum building @ the old firehouse. Renovations and rebuilding are expected to begin this coming Tuesday morning. The Co. Chief said he was very proud of his men and the surrounding Co's. about the way the acted and their quick actions, even this was their home and the "Devil" had infiltrated it. They were not about to give it up. More info and pics to come soon. Thanks for listening.

This morning at around 5:00 A.M., Layuga County 911 Center was receiving reports about a General Fire alarm activation. At around that time, Kentlego members were woken up to the sound of their siren sounding. As the guys were jumping out of bed, fire control toned out Company's 18 and 46 for a general fire alarm in 46's first due. As they listened to the dispatch, the guys realized that the location was Kentlego Station 46. With the memory of the devastating fire there last weekend burnt into their memory's, the guys rushed to the station. As a Captain pulled up, Wagon and Tower 46 were out of the old station and responding. Once on scene the crews made a quick search and found a faulty smoke detector head in one of the bunk rooms. They determined that there was no fire or emergency, they notified their Chief (who was out of town), who in turn notified fire control that the system was taken offline. On a positive note, the rebuilding is going great, and the roof over the un damaged portion of the station, was fixed. Within the next few days we will be able to move back in,but at a slow pace. This afternoon, after the soot was cleaned of the apparatus room walls, the farthest bay away from the fire area was all ready, so Engine 462 moved back in o it's home. The Wagon and Tower are still being stored at the old firehouse due to the lack of room in the current stations bays with all the construction equipment laying there. The Asst. Chief said he was very proud with the construction company's progress on the rebuilding. More info to come soon.

The girl is fine and resting in a nice warm cozy bed in a room at the Log Hill Memorial Hospital. It turns out the the Pelvis was not fractured. The cause of the injuries are unknown at this time, and is considered suspicious and is being investigated by the L.R.F.D.
