Hello everyone, I was just wondering how many people would be interested in a contest of building a tricked out truck. The size category would be 8-wide and up. The winner will get a picture of his truck in a 'elite section' that I am going to make as soon as the contest is over. The 'elite section' is still going to be in this group. Cinda' like the 'Members Rods' section in the rod club, but more confined, as in only the very best will be in that section, and not just mediocre and up. Please give some feedback.

P.S. The contest will not commence until we have at least 4 contestants.

Okay. I'm in. But what do you mean by 'tricked out'? Any modifications from stock at all, or just jacked-up off-roaders, street racers, etc?

Okay, good question. It has to be street tuned. As in lowered, chopped roof, big air intakes, spoilers and the like. (Note: You do not have to add the aforesaid accesories, those were just examples). Also, there is no make/model perimeters, any kind of truck even if its made up.

When the contest starts, will it have a time limit? I'd like to enter, but I'm not sure yet, because I usually spend a couple of weekends on each project. I could get it done a lot quicker if it wasn't for school!

Yah, sorry, I forgot to put that in. Naturally it will end the last day of April. So that gives us one month to work. And yes, I could get a lot done quicker if it wasn't for school too. :)

Alright, the contest is officially started. The contestants are:
Matthew Harned
Marvin Jubkins
Todd Wilder
Tony Dunne
Tterbo Magnesium
Nate Andrews
Patrick L.
Since the admin. and the moderator are contestants, they can not be judges. I will nominate judges soon.
If anyone wants to sign up in the middle, thats fine.
I have decided that 1st and 2nd place will get a picture in the elite section now, instead of just 1st. Thank you all for joining.

Hey, Tterbo! You can erase the "(possibly)" part, 'cuz I'm in! I had most of saturday to work on my pickup, and yesterday I got away from school a little early. (No, I wasn't playing hookie) It's almost finished, because it was one of those days when the pieces you need seem to come to you. I love it when that happens!

By the way, I'm not rushing through it. I've been working on it for about a week and a half now. Saturday and Monday were just part of it.

Hey T.M. Yeh, course I will. Thanks for the offer! Not sure how good I'll be though! What are the criteria? I normally use Realism (visual), Realism (Technical), Quality and Originality for ROTM, but happy for whatever measures you think are best. Sounds like a great challenge

Thanks a ton ape. What I was thinking of for judging would be visual. Example: a working engine with transmission would be rated lower than a really good looking body. There might be some made-up trucks entered, which is OK because we are looking for street tuned trucks, and not really on replicating anything. Thanks again, ~tterbo~
P.S. I am going to nominate two more judges.

I finished it today, but for some reason MOC Pages won't let me create the page.
In the "add a new creation" area my photos don't show up as HTML-I can't start the new page.
I'll keep trying to post it.

Hey guys, this group just kinda dropped dead as soon as I joined ;) Are we thinking about another contest sometime? Because I know that that would really boost activity.

Definitely, I just figured I'd give you guys a months rest between contests:) The next contest is going to be a replica contest. Any scale, any truck. Whoever makes the best replica of a stock pickup, (meaning right out of the factory, not modified at all) wins!!! Starting the first of July. How does that sound? ~tterbo~

That sounds great! I haven't built too many pickups yet, but I'm working on a LEGO® City™ style truck ;) I love contests.

So, is anybody up to another pickup contest?! Our next one up is MONSTER trucks, which, if you have never built one, are extremely fun to build.
If we don't have enough interest right now, it will be hosted later. ~Tterbo Magnesium~
